nine → here's some advice

Start from the beginning

Running through a smoke, a brunette girl appeared running straight at them. "Cap!" she shouted. They noticed that she had the strange alien blood around her mouth, but they were too dumbstruck to mention it. "Quick, gimme a boost!" She didn't manage to give Steve another second as she continued to run. Luckily, the blond quickly kneeled, pulling his shield in a position to move her. The moment her foot touched the shield, Steve lifted her high into the air. This gave her an advantage as she soared through the air, pulling her fist back, and once she landed, her fist landed harshly into the face of a Chitauri.

It made a loud squeal and yelped loudly again as Aline delivered a roundhouse kick, sending it straight into a building. She turned again, hissing at it before sticking her fangs into its neck. The alien roared with pain before it too crumpled to the floor, dead. The last Chitauri roared in her direction and aimed its weapon at her. She flitted towards it and shoved her hand into its body, feeling her fingers wrap around its spine. It made a pained sound but Aline didn't hesitate to squeeze her fist and break its spine.

The trio looked at Aline in surprise, awe, and fright. They watched as she lifted one of her blood covered hands, using the back of it to wipe away the alien blood from her lips. "If you're not gonna take orders from him," she said in a terrifyingly calm voice, "then take them from me."

Still in shock, the sergeant turned to the other officers. "I need men in those buildings! Lead the people down and away from the streets. We're gonna set up a perimeter as far back as 39th."

"What's the story upstairs?" Steve asked as they all met in the center of a bridge, cars piled up around them. Tony still hadn't met with them, flying around in his suit but communicating through the comms. Aline had arrived shortly after Steve, a bit of ash and alien blood covering her. For a moment, it reminded her of what happened earlier in the day with the agents, but she quickly pushed the thoughts away.

Call yourself stupid later, she told herself, don't get distracted!

"The powers surrounding the cube is impenetrable," Thor said. Half way through the battle, she had realized that Thor had appeared and started helping out with the battle, but she wasn't sure when. Honestly, she didn't particularly care at the moment.

"Thor's right," Tony said. "We gotta deal with these guys."

"How do we do this?" Natasha asked.

"As a team," Steve said.

"I have unfinished business with Loki," Thor said.

"Yeah, you and me both, buddy. Let's all form a line and pulverize the little ass." Aline rolled her neck and cracked her fingers, looking at the battle before her.

"Save it," Steve snapped. "Loki's gonna keep this fight focused on us and that's what we need. Without him these things could run wild. We got Stark up top, he's gonna need us to 一"

His voice was drowned out from the roar of a motorcycle nearing. They all turned to see that a man was driving straight through the chaos. It was Bruce, looking more ragged than he usually did. Once he got close enough, he shut the engine off and slowly made his way towards them. His dark eyes scanned the ruined city. "So this all seems horrible."

"I've seen worse," Natasha shrugged.

"I've been worse," Aline said, looking around at the aliens. When he gave her a funny look, she just shook her head, even lifting and waving her hand to ignore her comment. "Trust me, you don't wanna know."

"Sorry," Bruce apologized.

"No, we could use a little worse," Natasha said.

"Stark?" Steve said. "We got him."

"Banner?"

"Just like you said."

"Then tell him to suit up. I'm bringing the party to you." Tony was seen less than a second later, his Iron Man suit glinting in the sun as a large Leviathan followed quickly behind, its wing crashing into buildings. Aline's dark eyes widened as much as they could, her jaw nearly dropping. Seriously? Why was he making them deal with that?

"I... I don't see how that's a party..." Natasha trailed off.

Tony swooped down on the street, along with the Leviathan, barreling down like a freight train. Bruce looked behind him and started to walk towards him.

"Hey, uh, Brucey, honey," Aline spoke up. She cupped her hands around her mouth as the doctor walked further away from the group. "Now, um, here's some advice: you might wanna get angry, like now."

"That's my secret, Aline," Bruce said. "I'm always angry." His body grew and his skin turned green, transforming into the massive Hulk. He turned and quickly pummeled his fist into the Leviathan's head as it arrived.
