Anyway, I hope you enjoy this book

THIS IS NOT A ROMANCE NOVEL!!!!

I'm not really a romance chick, so if your not, and you like Harry Potter Fan Fictions then that's ok!

I hope you enjoy this book - I know it's not the book I had promised, but I will be uploading that later this week.

Have a fun time reading This Girl Plays With Fire!

PS: This book is dedicated to little_miss_short because she constantly encourages me to write

 Scarlett's POV

I peered down on the busy students from my perch in a large tree on the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

Their cloaks and hats were blowing everywhere in the intense wind and rain. The students did not look like they were enjoying themselves at all. It was the end of the school year - shouldn't they be celebrating?

Personally, I couldn’t understand them. I relished the feeling of the wind on my face, my long red hair whipping all around and the rain pelting my back. Of course, I supposed with me being different and all, the way I reacted to a storm would be different too.

Three first-years came running down to the small hut, which occupied a rather large man, and knocked on the door. The girl – I believe her name was Hermione – looked around, her teeth chattering, her lips blue and her hands stuffed into her pockets, trying to keep warm.

I edged forward, curious at what she was doing at Hagrid’s house on this miserable (for her) day. Using my bare feet I crept along a small branch keeping my wings close to my body, so they would not get caught on the branches and make unnecessary noise.

Yes, I said wings, and no you’re not going crazy. I’m not going to blabber about here; I’ll get straight to the point. I am a dragon.

Actually I lied. Sorry if I confused you, I can turn into a dragon. In my dragon form I have red scales and am 3 – 4 metres in length.

When I am in human form, I have red long hair (like red red), very pale skin, natural red lips and I am quite small. My eyes are always gold – yet another thing that makes me different.

(AN: picture of Scarlett to the side, picture of Scarlett in dragon form will be on the next chapter)

Usually though, I am the human form of me, but keep my wings. They can be very handy at times.

Anyway, I don’t know what caused it, maybe it was her sixth sense or something, but all of a sudden she looked up, straight at me.

I turned quickly and ran along the branch, my wings out to keep balance, not caring if they were seen. I jumped to the next tree and the next until I felt I was far enough from the school grounds.

And then I flew. Flying is my one and only retreat from life. I have no one to go to, or a special place to hide. But when I’m flying it’s as if all my troubles vanish.

The feeling of wind on your face as you fly as fast as a jet plane never gets old. My razor sharp eyes take in every detail as I whip past, turning and weaving along narrow paths on the treetops.

I know the Forbidden Forest like the back of my hand – spending half of your life here would result in this.

I am twelve years old. I was put on the front steps of Miss Smith’s Orphanage for Girls when I was two. Pinned to my blanket was my name Scarlett Kaida Riddle written in neat calligraphy.

One day, when I was six, I climbed up to my room after a terrible week. My room was the only thing I liked about the orphanage. It was shabby and bare, but it had a large window that looked out onto the city of London. I sat on the window ledge and rested my head onto my hands. My red hair was whipping around in the fierce wind, but unfortunately I did not pay any attention to it.

Without warning a large gust if wind hit me. Unbalanced I groped around for something to hold onto but it was no use. I fell down, screaming for my life when all of a sudden I felt this tingling feeling on my back. I jolted to a stop in midair.

Confused, I looked around and to my surprise I saw two large, red wings protruding from my back. I flapped them a bit and joyfully flew around for a few seconds before I was snapped back into reality by a piercing scream. Ten girls and boys were looking at me in horror.

I dashed into my room stuffed all of my belongings into a small plastic bag and flew away, knowing that I could never return.

After flying around the country for a month I came across Hogwarts and more importantly, the Forbidden Forest.

This forest was my safe hold, somewhere I knew I was a complete secret.

That is, until now...

DUM DUM DUMMMMMMMM!!!!!

So what's going to happen next? Will Hermione find out about Scarlett? Or will Scarlett be able to keep her secret?

That's a stupid question Sunnysal! We all know the answer! :P

Anyway, enough of my rambling...

See ya later my lovely kittens!

That is, if you're a girl, if you're not then this is kind of awkward...
