Now the clock struck midnight and the missiles started to be fired from the top of the mountain range. Luna ran to her home for cover but saw it had been completely obliterated. Where once was a house, there now is no more than rubble. Luna fell to her knees as she saw the charred corpses of her family. All that was left was her room. And a sole survivor, hidden under the bed. It was her brother, seeking refuge in his sisters room. Everything was broken as Luna hauled her older brother from the debris of the bedroom. "Casper! Are you ok?" She sobbed, hugging him tightly. "Why did you come into my room?"
"Rose... She said to run before something happens. I went to get some of our clothes, but something hit the house and propelled me into the bed... Oh... I broke it..." Casper shuddered. He looked at Luna, her black hair in two bunches, her red and blue eyes, her unnatural pale skin. He stared, watching the tears stream down her face. There was another loud bang and Casper dragged Luna out the window. "Listen to me, Luna... There is a secret in this family. We don't know what yours is..." Casper said, grabbing her, forcing her to look at him."Wait, what do you mean?" Asked Luna. Casper grabbed Luna's arm and pulled her to the woods.
She was confused but still ran on and didn't look back. But she could still think and she did. Why was this happening? Why her? Why could she see things before they happened? It made no sense. What her what was? She rooted herself in the ground and turned to face her brother. "What is happening?"
"I know it makes no sense, but trust me. Run." He replied, trying to get her to run again.
"Not until you explain." She turned to face her village. Why a village? Why not a city? What was so special about this town?
"Listen Luna. They are after you. Now answer honestly. Have you done anything recently? That you haven't seen done before?" Luna nodded. She had done so much. She forced someone back without doing anything, moved rock, changed water and even made a fire. She could make people do what she wanted, and...
She could see people's moves before they decided to make them. She was a tactical advantage if there ever was one.
People had always feared her, and there was not one person who didn't know who she was. It was just how she was raised. But her brothers weren't afraid. They would always stay around her, like best friends, they were never mean, neglecting or ignoring her. True family is kind. Like hers was. Like she thought they were.
But they didn't tell her.
They told lies. They told lies to make her happy. Not once did they realise that the lies would cause what had happened. How could they have seen? The lies they were telling, could destroy Luna. And the world. They had said they had originated from France, but it wasn't true. Where had they started? In a lab. In an abandoned, old lab in the desert.
It was all coming back to her... Who she really was... It scared her. What if it was them... From the lab... What if they were going to kill her? What if they were going to kill everyone? She ran, faster than her brother, and they ran to the border of the village. Running was all she could do. It was her last hope to survive.
