Sometimes people will tell your private stuff to someone else, sometimes even your best friend. If I say, "Promise not to tell anyone?" or "You can't tell anyone, okay?" and the person agrees not to tell anyone, why do they think that "just" telling their girlfriend or boyfriend doesn't count? If someone confides in you and asks that you don't tell anyone, then don't! Keep your mouth shut! It's easy. True friends keep secrets and remain loyal. It's a shame that it's difficult to trust your friends now days. The exception would be informing a reliable source if the secret is life-threatening or dangerous situation. There would be much less gossip and hurt feelings, if people didn't tell other people's private business. Remember it can happen to you, too! Shhh!
