My eyes snap open at my mothers sharp rap on my bedroom door.
"Leonardo for gods sake wake up!", her shrill voice bounced off the poorly wallpapered walls and blasts through my wooden door. Wiping the remaining sleep out of my eyes I roll over on my lumpy mattress. Sitting up slowly I peer across the room and see the large body of my brother, Mason, rising and falling, in his bed. Masons grey rumpled sheets are roughly drapped across the weak wooden frame exposing his muscular back.
Annoyed that Mason was yet again sleeping in, I got out my bed in a huff. I walk past his bed grabbing my shoes from his pile of mess, the floor boards groan with every step, ignoring the sound I pull on my thinning brown jumper. Before I was able to push my left arm through the hole, a strong grip was forced around my fore arm. Letting my eyes fall to the large hand that belonged to Mason, without turning his head in the pillow to face me he snarled "Oi frog face" his grip tightened on my bony wrist "

we make our way back to our pathetic excusse for a house to drop of the eggs and goats milk. i take her pail from her to set it on the table along with the eggs.
because it was a sunday-which we had to ourselfs, we silently agree to venture to our spot loacted half way up one of the mountains, to watch as the sun set our world on fire.
i look across to Ariana in the rising sun, which excentuated the blonde ringlets that framed her heart shaped face. "Leo" she whispered turning her head to face me, "mm" i replied proping myself up on my elbow to see the face that basically reflected my mothers. "i wonder whats out there" she motioned to the tremendous mountains that enclosed our tiny village in the valley. "one day, we will leave the choking grips of this society, and discover the unknown which i will shape with my bare hands to keep you happy...one day" i reply truthfully.
up here, perched half way up this hill i felt so powerful
