Hello, everyone, I'm rewriting this story after taking a long break from this site. My writing style is far different from before which means that things are going to be very strange for those rereading this story for the hundredth time. I hope you enjoy this reboot of the reboot and I'll keep in touch.

Scared, scared would be a word to describe how the person is feeling. Frozen, aghast, and alone the being wandered into a frozen forest, their feet crunching on the fallen snow that covered the land from head to toe. Their breaths came out at an even pace though the puffs were visible in the cold and bitter winter air. Much like the barren foliage, the land had no other living creature on it besides the robe being who's dark layers of clothing floated with the winds. The frostbite at their body yet no shivers ran through them, they're strong. Heading up farther along the path there is a strange ringing sound almost like an alarm. It's sound drowned out the endless howl of the gusts of air that beat down on the strong and blew away the weak. They stopped along with all the sounds that sang simultaneously. Turning their head they seem to gaze at nothing yet the sight of their dead blue eyes was enough to convey a simple message to the one listening. Death is coming and there is no one strong enough to stand in its way.

"What do you mean you were awake at two in the morning?" Gaia screeched like the annoying squeaking vulture woman that she is. Her dark hair is tied up in its usual messy bun that always had strands escaping no matter how many times she attempted to fix her work. Skin golden and accent thick Aella shows off her Greek heritage without a second thought. She considers your business her business and has no idea what personal space actually means. She turns to me expectantly a perfect eyebrow raised as she stirred her tea like she always does when she's intrigued. I've learned that withholding information is like stealing her soul. The woman will beat answers out of you if it means that she'll get what she's looking for. Her pale green eyes narrowed as she grew impatient with me. If the stirring gets aggressive run or throw chocolate, either option will keep you alive a little bit longer. "I'm waiting." She hissed out like an angry mother.

"I've been having the same sort of dream lately and its distracting." Gaia's expression changes quickly eyebrows quirking with her thoughts. These visions are invading the real world now the images fluttering around in my mind and popping up when I least expect them to. I've seen a doctor and they've had no answers for me so I stopping looking for a cure to end the plague that haunts me. Still, the frozen forest is a wasteland that won't leave me be. Gaia cocked her head to the side the sleeve of her dark green sweater slid off. The patterns on the garment were beautiful. The different shades of gold woven together to create a field of wheat all around the bottom of the shirt. She always had interesting clothes that revolved around her plant theme.

"The frozen forest?" I nodded and she hummed quietly pondering over the information that she'd been told. Gaia's eyes flitted about the kitchen of our shared apartment. She is a family person that would soon leave like everyone else did and start her new life. Gaia is like me, she doesn't stop moving because she fears stagnation and the lack of safety in not progressing onwards. "Has the vision thing also been occurring recently?" Gaia's past to me is unknown I do not question her because I'm fairly certain that it would end up with a fight happening and I'd either be very homeless or very confident. While the doctors had no explanations for me Gaia had her good old listening ears that she used in order to make sense of the situation. I knew that she had a good idea of what's going on she just likes to play stupid in order to humor me. Gaia probably thinks that I'm insane anyway. The vision thing that she spoke of is the thing that interests her most. Everything ranging from the strange flickers of light to images kaleidoscoping in front of me. That's her thing and she seems delighted whenever I tell another story about it. Her enthusiasm about me being crazy is quite cute and also a little fucked up. But I won't ever tell her that.

Checking the clock I swore under my breath. Work started an hour ago and Tate will get a stick up his ass if I'm even a second late. Might as well die now anyway. Gaia snickered at my reaction hiding her laugh behind her hand as though that way it would be any less offensive. She leaned back onto the granite countertop drinking her tea with clear amusement as I struggled to get my things. The woman is no help ever in my life except when it interests her but at least she's good at pay rent and most of the bills that I don't even bother looking at. Heading through the cluttered and small home I reached the door when she called out to me. "Don't forget to keep calm." I glanced at her with my eyebrows raised as I pulled my jacket on its comforting leathers smell like my old and floral detergent. Her advice on not dying is horrible as always. Wrenching open the door the rush of cold air knocks me off my feet into a scalding cold. The snow bit into my fingers as the winds nipped at my clothes. The images were not quite there but the sounds and the touches were. The cold consumed everything quickly as the images slowly appeared. The trees and a dark sky were the first few things that I saw. A lack of twinkling star's and the light of the moon felt odd to someone who stares and dreams of what a life beyond an office and beyond a small apartment. I love Gaia but there is so much more out there that I have yet to discover and the only thing holding me back is fear along with this horrid power.

This time I know it's different. I am never fully present when I visit the frozen forest yet this time I know that I am here not watching. The sting of the cold is what anchors me to this twisted dark reality. I think, no I feel. I still feel what they're feeling. A fear that eats away at everything and is rooted deep within my body so far that it has consumed whatever used to be there. There are traces of hate and grief but the overwhelming sadness is what causes the feeling of helplessness. I am so confused and so very alone. I can not tell what is me and what is them but I know that I must face this now. I have to take care of the pain or else it will be the only thing left of me. I stand on shaky legs and walk through the snow as thoughts that are not mine swim through my head invading my own. They are grieving a lover name Stephen who they believe to be gone but a part of them wonders if anything truly is gone. I continue forwards until I reach the point where the dream usually ends though another feeling invades my body. It is new but not foreign. Pain so much of it. I feel around my body searching for the source only to feel the frost forming as the blood solidifies on the my stomach. A gentle ringing is heard though it sounds like chimes. A bird sings as the winds lighten up. A ray of dawn cracks through the blackened sky bringing life to the lands. This is not the end. It is merely a beginning.
