You kissed my lips and held me close

all I could smell was your sweet aroma

you brushed against my cheek as you whispered softly

those three words I always loved to hear

I longed the hours to pass, till you held me in your arms

My tummy fluttered, I wasn't the only one who wanted you home

My hand rubbed gently as I softly whispered,

"Daddy will be home shortly"

A rap at the door stirred me from my sleep

I was greeted by two men in blue

Sickness overcome me as I lost my balance

I needed you now more than ever

I held your hand begging you to open your eyes

Say those words, I needed to hear, your voice I longed for

Please don't leave me, don't leave us, my tummy fluttered

We need you

I need you so much.
