I woke up to the beeping of my alarm and reluctantly sat up, turning the alarm off as I did so.

It was only 7 o'clock in the morning.

I walked over to the window and pulled the curtains open to let some light through. The city faintly shimmered in the pale sunshine.

Sighing I ran a hand though my hair as I walked over to my walk-in closet. I picked out my outfit for the first day of school. I put on my favourite pair of skinny leather trousers, a simple black tank top and a brand new denim jacket that I just got from DKNY last week.

My best friend, Alice Westwood once told me that you should never appear like you have put too much effort. I looked in the mirror to check my makeup and outfit. I then ran my hand through my already curled brunette hair to make them look more natural. It was the first day of school, so everybody will be dying to see what Annabel Miller is wearing.

I looked at my watch, to only see that I was already running late!  Grabbing my stuff, I rushed out of the house without saying goodbye to my mum.

By the time I arrived at school, the parking lot was filled with students. I found my friends and started walking towards them.

"Hey babe" Jake said while hugging me.

"Hey," I said, returning the hug. Jake is my boyfriend.

Jake and I have been dating for almost a year now. He has dark brown hair and hazel eyes. He is the perfecy guy and any girl wants to date him.

"You look good." Jake said, grinning.

"You don't look bad yourself," I managed to get out before he planted his lips on mine.

While he was kissing me, he was moving his hands on my back, and I could feel his six-pack under his shirt. Jake is the quarterback of the football team and the most known guy at our school. Every girl's fantasy. I kissed him back passionately, but pulled away when he bit my lower lip.

"What's wrong?" Jake asked with a frown.

"Nothing. Just bit distracted today. Sorry." I replied, slightly smiling.

I spaced out and missed the rest of their conversation. That was until Alice's hand swept across my face in a waving motion.

"HELLO?! Earth to Annabel. Were you listening to me?" I blinked at her and tried to remember what had been the last thing she had said to me.

"Sorry Alice. I'm just really tired today." I said to her.

I don't know why I have been so distracted lately.

"Tough night, huh?" Alice asked me as she checked her makeup and applied her Dior lipstick.

"I have to go to my program, are you coming?" I said, trying my best to be cheerful.

"Let's go" Alice said as we entered the school building.
