Endless street

This is the only money we have "said my sister Jan" and it is the last one "she added "
I took the money and run to a spazza shop to buy us a pizza , which is big enough for all of my family.
I came back and my mom was still sleeping , she's still in the same position I left her
Mom ain't you going to work? " I asked while going to her "
"Don't worry Ricky I will go"
I heard from her voice that something was wrong with mom , I told Jan that mom wasn't feeling ohk but Jan refused to accept the fact that mom isn't ohk because she was the only parent left.
Mom is ohk she's just sleeping can't you see Ricky ? Jan said " she's just hungry "she took one slay of pizza and put it in moms mouth..
Mom couldn't open her mouth , she was very sick , you could hear her moaning in pain.
It was still in the morning when the house owner knocked on the door
He got in and start threatening us he had a belt in his hand ,
Hahahaha woman look at you sleep all day "said the house owner" it has been 2 months without you paying rant "he added"
"I will pay you Mr my child Jan is going to start working today , we will pay you when she get paid "mom lied "
"Look woman this is a business ,as we talking now there's a family waiting out side looking for apartment, so park your things and find your self a place to stay" said the house owner. By 3 pm you should be out he added "
Well he left the room , I looked at mom , tears flooded in her eyes
She asked us to pack , she called my sister Jan to help her to stand up
She couldn't stand constantly but it is hard for my sister Jan to accept that mom is sick
"No mom it's ohk you gonna be ohk , you are note sick mom" said Jan with that voice of feeling the pain emotionally,
"Mom why don't we go back to where we used to stay with dad"I asked
"No we can't go there" people don't want us there" mom said
So we pack our things and left , we only managed to take cloths and shoes because they were only once we can carry along the way, we walked a long distance untill mom was tired , she got tired and fall down , my sister Jan managed to curry her to the side walk so we chilled there until police came and took us out of that place because it is a no sitting area.
So mom tried hard to walk she uses her last power and hope to keep walking ,
We got to this passage where I ended up asking mom that where are we going
"We are going to my friends house the one I was working with" she said , helplessly
5 stranger boys approached us and start harassing us at the same passage , they took our clothes and shoes and left but one of them stopped
" guys ain't we forgetting something ? Said the stranger
They all stopped and turned around to us
"Run run run run " said mom
But it was too late for us to run , boys started with my mom
"Ah this one is sick we can't help our say " but this one here is still fresh " pointing at my sister Jan "
So for that 10 minute I was sitting there with mom crying watching my sister getting raped , I wish I could help but I was powerless , this guys are many and am young am about 10 years, and Jan is 17 years,
Jan was down in her tears river , I saw her mouth trying to say something but the voice was very low because of crying but I managed to read her lips "help me that's what she was saying "
Boys got their job done and left imidiatly , Jan run to moms arms crying endlessly , as a family mom and Jan were crying and I couldn't cry because I should be the one to comfort them. Luckily Jan was able to walk so we kept on walking and walking
Until we reach to moms friend
We got in
On the door mom took a very long breath before she knocks, she was very tired and very sick at the same time, there was no hope that mom could live until tommrw , she hugged us then knee down and hold our hands
" I love you my children and I would be happy to see you having a happy ending , Jan please take care of your brother no matter what " said mom with her lower voice . This is our last hope " she added .
She knock and her friend opened the door ,
"Huh Sharon my friend how u long time " said mom with the last power of speaking "
"And then who are you ? What are you doing here? Do I know you " said Sharon
"Sharon it's me merlot its me remember me? " said mom
"Leave my house I don't know you and I don't want street kids in my yard leave " said Sharon , she shut the door .
That really hurt me especially when mom couldn't believe what her best friend just did to her!
But I understand because days are dark,
Mom told us to leave the place so we did so and got to street again
This time we were walking but not knowing were we are going.
" keep on walking , walk and dont look back just keep on walking I will always be with you" said mom from her lower voice
Few minutes after that she fel down,

Shouted mom mom mom wake up mom wake up , we will find help mom , mom wake up at the other side I was looking for help and the street was empty and helpless,
I heard Jan crying "No No shaking my mom " that's were I realised that mom was gone to the next life ,
Few tears dropped down my chicks but because she told us to walk and never stop nor look back I took Jan's hand and stood her up
" remember what mom said minutes ago?" I asked
she got up , we said our last goodbyes to mom and got to street
And walk , we kept on walking and the street was endless , we walked and walked and walked
Until we decided to stop.
