Skoochy and Jinora had been dating for three years. Ever since he asked her out in the ninth grade they had been together. Was it a great relationship? At first, Jinora supposed. Her and Skoochy were complete opposites. Jinora was a quite bookworm, Skoochy was a loud street rat. These things don't usually fit together, but for them it did. Overtime, Jinora became exhuasted with Skoochy, but for some reason she couldn't leave him. Maybe it was the feeling of adrenaline she got when he dragged her into dangerous situations. Maybe it was the feeling of defying her strict parents' wishes by being with him. Whatever the reason was, Jinora couldn't leave him, not just yet.
Jinora pondered these thoughts as she sat in the front yard of a house party that Skoochy had dragged her to. It was the third one this week, Jinora didn't even like house parties. She wanted to go home, she would have to tell Skoochy.
Jinora got up and crossed to the gate. She unlatched the key and immediately was greeted by the smell of beer and body odor. God I hate parties, Jinora thought as she crossed through the plethora of bodies. Skoochy was flirting with some girl as usual. Jinora tapped his shoulder and Skoochy turned to face her, his breath filled with the scent of alcohol. His eyes were dazed, his hair and clothes rattled. The party had started what, and hour ago? Jinora sighed.
"I think I'm gonna head home." Jinora said quietly, rubbing her arm. Skoochy wrapped his arm around Jinora, pulling her close.
"Cmon baby, the party just started!" Skoochy said, spilling some of the beer in his glass on Jinora's dress. She frowned and unwrapped herself.
"I have a headache. I'm gonna walk myself home." Jinora said, looking at her shoes. Skoochy grabbed her chin and raised it to look at his eyes.
"Listen here. I brought you to this party to have a good time. You're gonna stay or there will be consequences." Skoochy said between his teeth, raising his fist. Jinora shook him loose, tears welling up in her eyes. He backed off and laughed at her, like it was some cruel joke. She cut madly through the crowd towards the exit, tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Hey! Jinora! Cmon!" Skoochy called after her. She ignored him and ran down the street.
He didn't mean it. He always gets this way when he's drunk, Jinora tried to convince her self. He's never threatened to hit before though? Was it even a joke or was she the joke? Jinora wept as she walked down the street, holding herself tightly. She threw her hood over her head and looked down at the pavement. She barely noticed when some kid ran into her.
"Whoa sorry there." He said. Jinora ignored him and kept on her way.
"Wait! Can you tell me where the party is?" Jinora stopped and turned back to him. Her makeup was running down her face. He stopped and approached her slowly.
"Hey, is everything alright?" He asked softly. He was a head taller than Jinora with sweet green eyes and a strange hair cut, the sides were shaved. Jinora shrugged.
"The party is straight down the street. I'm fine." She said, her voice wavering. He pouted and put his hand on her shoulder. She looked up at him.
"Hey fine, I'm Kai. Where ya heading? You look like you could use an escort." He said smiling. Jinora muffled a laugh.
"I'm just... Just going home." Jinora said hiding a grin. Kai bowed and stretched his arm indicating she should go ahead of him.
"Lead the way, my lady." He said as Jinora muffled another laugh and walked ahead of him. Kai caught up next to her. He was wearing worn skinny jeans, a gray hoodie, and green shoes. He didn't look like the type to ever really dress up much.
"So why are you walking all alone?" Kai said looking at the street lamps.
"I... Had some issues at the party. I needed to leave early." Jinora said quietly but sternly, indicating the subject needed not to be discussed more. Kai pouted and looked at her, but shrugged it off. Better not to push it. They walked in silence for a little while, taking a few turns towards Jinora's house.
"I've never seen you around. Are you new?" Jinora said. Kai looked almost startled that she talked. He rubbed the back of his neck.
"Yeah, me and my brothers moved here about a week ago. I'm starting school on Monday." Jinora laughed a little.
"Good Luck. If you go to my school, you'd wish you could drop out." Jinora said.
"It can't be that bad. The people seem pretty nice." Kai said smirking. Jinora blushed a little. She put her hand in front of his chest and he stopped. Jinora looked up at him, her gray eyes shining even under the hood. This was the first time he had ever seen her face. She was well beautiful.
"My dad would kill me if he saw me walking home with you... Sorry but he only really approves of guys who look like they just came from a business meeting." Jinora said quietly. Kai laughed.
"That's ok. I understand." Jinora smiled at him. She tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
"Thanks for walking me home. See you around, Kai." Jinora said running towards the front house. She lived in a gorgeous mansion. Kai just stood there for a moment trying to register what just happened. He waved at her.
"See you later... Er." Kai said stopping himself. He never got the girls name! Kai sighed and wandered back down the street. He had so many questions he wanted to ask her. Why was she so upset? Why did she hate school? Why did she make Kai so nervous?
Kai shrugged off the questions and kept walking. He heard music in the distance. He reached the house with the party, shrugged, and walked in.

Bing!
Jinora rolled over in her bed and looked at her phone.
One new message from: Skoochy.
Jinora sighed and pressed open.
Hey Jin! I wanted to say sorry how I acted. You know how parties get 😜. ~Skoochy
Jinora's fingers danced over the keyboard.
It's fine. See you tomorrow. ~Jinora
Jinora sighed and slammed her head in the pillows. It was a routine now. Skoochy would get angry, do something questionable, Jinora would get mad, he would send an apology text, and Jinora would forgive him. It was a tiring routine. Why couldn't Jinora break it?
A/N: Okie so I was wondering if y'all wanted me to release this in chapters or when it's fully completed like the last fic. Lemme know in the comments. Btw thanks for 200+ reads on the last one 💕.
