PART 1
He almost made it,but a stroller decided to block his way and knowing himself,he would move aside and allow it to have its way before he does. But by then the door starts closing and the last thing he knew he has spread an arm in but quickly pulled away in defeat. He didn't make it inside that elevator. He released a defeated breath and instead offer the closed door in front of him a forgiving smile.
He looks to the side and sees his next option. He gladly accepted taking the stairs. Then after two sets have been disappointed by his decision. But knowing himself,he rather just stick to the plan he is in and accept his faith no matter the circumstances. So he continued on getting down manually.
Finally he was down.It was five sets of stairs he cleared. He felt proud and expected to gain some sort of health benefit from the workout he endured. Before he pushed open a door that would lead into the entrance,he hears a fatal scream. That was too loud to not have been heard.
He would run towards the fading echo, and look over to the open elevator. The one he did not reach in time.Inside was a woman.A gun laid pointed to her chin, she had a wet face, from the blood of whom,he didn't know. The woman displayed no tears,as her face stared blankly at him.Looking through him and into the street outside where a row of cars are in line because of a stop light.
On the floor beside the woman was two dead men, their bodys tangled in an awkward fall,as well as an old lady who lay facedown infront of the woman with a gun to her chin. The old lady's white hair was consumed by the red that was her own blood. It continued to spread and eventually drench the woman who stood still and expressionless, her business shoes wet like an ocean.
He is shocked by the blood, and the odd stare that the woman displayed. He would wonder after a moment why he is just there, unmoving and allowing more seconds to pass, viewing this unspeakable crime, this dreadful tragedy.
Then suddenly movement from within caused him to take a step back. She would suddenly appear from the corner of the elevator, pushing an emergency button, over and over.As a mans voice kept calling "Hello",while the woman lay silent and scared, she couldnt speak a word or think of one,she kept pushing the button nonetheless. While the mans voice getting more and more irritated."Hello"It would say.
There she goes, walking over the two men dead on the floor and almost stepping into grandma's hand, she makes it out the elevator and almost brush him by,as if he didn't exist.Luckily he would be alert enough to move to the side before she charged forward.
But the woman only made it to holding the doorknob. Before a gunshot to the back of her head made all her endeavors fail and end with blood. As she dropped her head forward onto the glass and eventually slip down headfirst into the welcome mat.Making the white font into a pink hue.
Blood was splattered everywhere, not just from within the elevator now.It was all over the floor, and its still spreading. Some even welcomed itself onto his shirt and luckily its color black so he couldnt see it.But he felt the wetness and it was enough for him to know some of it was on him.
He never understood why the woman with the gun let him go.He remembered the way she looked at him.And how she for a moment actually looked at him and not through him.He felt an odd connection.A memory of happiness, yet he couldn't pin the emotion with visuals.
He remembered how she smiled and how his heart skipped a beat.More of pain and worry for her, than for himself, who was placed into this confusing dillema. Is he going to run out and become a witness or allow this woman to shoot him too,yet thinking and feeling such uninvited thought,he was certain the woman will let him go.Even so as to finaly look away from her now teary eyes, and blood splattered face without worry.Though he could see she was beautiful,he even feels like he has seen her before, without the monster make up she wore on the currrent moment.
