There's no such thing as perfection

Sometimes life isn't perfect.
You won't get the man you used to dream of.

This isn't a typical love story. Not the girl gets the famous actor.
Nor the girl gets with the popular boy. Sometimes the person you want isn't in the place you expect.

Just like Carter Jensen. Came out of the blue and stole my heart. That may seem positive but don't think of it that way. When he asked me out I only expected it to last a month at most. But it was a little more than that.
More like three years. I grew this love and care for him that couldn't just disappear. More like a brother than a lover.
He was a detective. Way too young to be a detective. He was so absorbed in his new job that he didn't have time for me.
He hardly even kissed me. We got an apartment, shared a bed, had a life together but he hardly actually loved me. He just treated me like a good friend.
I begged for him to hold me but it seemed as if I just wasn't good enough for him.
I don't know why I didn't just end it. It hadn't occurred to me. As if I didn't have a choice in the matter.
But I had chosen to love him and that's the only thing I could do.

The worst mistake I made was not appreciating it while it lasted.
