"You have a date tonight?!" I said a bit shocked.

"Yes, this girl from the cafe last night gave me her number." Eddie explained.

"Well, good for you!" He and I both cheered.

Breakfast was served. Eddie, him and I ate peacefully. I couldn't help but sneak peeks at him. I even stare. Could someone be so perfect? It was ridiculous. I was hung up on it. I was actually zoning out, and this was food we're talking about. I was eating and zoning out, that never happens!

The lads and I went out that day, just to get some fresh air. Liam and Danny needed to stack up on food again, and I needed to pick up a few things. Eddie decided to stay home and look for a job. Liam drives to the grocery and we arrived in a jiffy.

I grabbed a trolley and started scanning through the aisles of things I needed. I was lost in my own world until I saw him. He had his own trolley, he was picking out canned goods.

Goodness gracious it was like looking at a commercial. I can't even take my eyes off him.

I am a bloody disgrace. My heart beats faster. I was starting feel that again, that thing in my tummy. I was being lit up from the inside.

This girl suddenly comes up to him. She smiles, even twirling a strand of her hair. He smiles at her. He might be even flirting. The girl giggles, and my heart shatters. I've seen this before. It was an endless cycle of self loathing, longing and pity. How could I not have driven myself away from this. I was going to be that guy who loved his best friend.

Like this story couldn't get anymore cliche.

I turn away, I bury the feeling deep in my chest. I decided to be stuck in my little world again.

I'm gonna need more coffee...

After we checked out, Danny suggests we go to the park, Liam agrees.

We were walking randomly through the park, wasting time.

"Hey, want some ice cream?" Danny asks.

"Sure." I said, Liam does as well.

He goes and buys ice cream for us. Liam and I continued walking.

It was breezy and cold, chilly. The sun seeping through the gaps of the leaves of the tall trees.

"Here you go." Danny says, handing us a cone of ice cream.

"So this is Central Park, huh?" Danny says biting into the ice cream.

"Yup, just a three point for square kilometer of land." I say.

"Yeah? You really know your facts huh?" Danny said.

We went on walking and walking just laughing about things. Discussing small matters.

"I'm gonna have to go. I need to be in the cafe in half an hour. I'll take the groceries home." Danny said, waving goodbye.

Now it was just me and Liam. We were sat near the lake. Just him and I looking out in the open.

"So what are your plans for Christmas?" Liam spoke.
