~ I'm Hailee, 17 years of age and currently living in Oregon. I moved from New York, and began a new life here with my father and younger brother. I had a plan, a way things should've been. But all my intentions were changed once I began to open my eyes, and I began to see a blue sky.

Chapter 1

I woke up to the sound of my alarm, I yawned tiredly and hit the snooze button. Sitting upwards I looked at the time. 6:36. I was gonna be late for the bus! I shot out of bed and hurried to get dressed. Pulling on a red tee shirt and black skinny jeans, I grabbed my bag and ran downstairs to the bathroom. I glanced in the mirror, looking at my reflection for a moment. I was on the shorter side and dark brown hair down to just above my waist. Topped with pale skin and green eyes, I brushed my hair and my teeth. I rushed out and grabbed an apple on my way out the door. The bus pulled up the second I shut the front door. I ran up and climbed in, ready for another day.
Fifteen to twenty minutes later the bus pulled into the parking lot. I made my way through the double doors of my high school. Dodging people left and right. Seniors, sophmores, freshman and juniors all buzzed around in a hurry. I snaked my way to my locker. Pulling out several books and made my way to my next class. Which was calculus.
I opened the door to the classrom, most of the class was present so I made my way to the only available table in the room at the back. I set my stuff down, we had several minutes before class started so I pulled out a sheet of notebook paper and started drawing.
Before I knew it class had started, Mr. Chaft was writing on the white board some equation or whatever when the door opened. In stepped a tall girl, she wore a light gray shirt and black skinny jeans. Her hair was cut pixie cut short and dyed a dark cyan blue. Her skin was pale and topped with only a few freckles down her arm. "Ah. Class this is our new student- your name please?" He asked looking at her. She was silent for a moment. "Blue." He set down his marker and smiled. "Welcome to calculus- Blue." She looked around the room for a moment. Her eyes locking with mine for a moment. I looked back down at my paper. I had no interest in getting to know her, but for some reason my eyes wandered back up to her. I looked her up and down for a moment, she looked almost downright scary for a moment. The expression on her face set the whole feel.
"Ms. Thatch, go ahead and take a seat next to Hailee in the back." My heart skipped a beat for a split second. I forced myself to look back at me paper of random trees and flowers. I quickly turned it over. Scribbling random circles as I heard her shoes seem to echo on the tile floor, she sat down besides me, I could see her from the corner of my eye as she looked at me. I continued scribbling, unsure what else to do.
I zoned out most of the class, we had simply been reviewing for this weeks tests before winter break. I looked up to see Mr. Chaft checking a list as he walked around. Unsure what was going on I looked around. "Hailee and Blue. Partners. Courtney and-". Quickly looked at the board to see a group assignment explained in detail for the whole next week. Blue glanced at me, a sly grin crept up one corner of her face. Giving her a rather rebellious look. I leaned back in my chair, feeling rather embarrassed about the whole thing. I checked the time again and began to pack. I was about to put my drawings away when I noticed the paper was in Blues hand, her eyes scanned over it rather carefully. Even her eyes were blue, I thought to myself. She looked at my quietly, "you are a very good artist." I felt my stomach turn as her light blue eyes clung to me. "Thank you." I stuttered. Probably sounding weak, she nodded, then packed up her stuff. I slipped my paper in my bag and hurried out the door the second the bell rang.
