I flopped on my bed lazily, having just hooked up one of those little streaming boxes to my television. You know, one of those boxes that has Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Pandora, and so on?
Anyway, I looked up from my tablet noticing that the familiar blue glow of the home screen was missing. I stood up, figuring I just hooked it up wrong, and so I would go correct the mistake. I looked up at the screen momentarily, then stopped dead in my tracks. The display on the screen was from a camera, one that had been placed in my room. The angle was behind me, in the ceiling. I spun around, squinting to try and find the camera.
Suddenly, a deep voice resonated through my room
"Oh, what a mistake..." I heard a low chuckle before he continued "it appears you've discovered that I've been watching you..."Terrified, I turned to the TV and unplugged the device.
"You think that'll prevent anything?" A dark laugh filled up the small room, and I fled into the backyard where my parents were.
Once I reached the backyard, I was in hysterics. I begged my parents to come in and investigate, telling them what had happened. Finally, they looked at each other and agreed. I stepped in through the backdoor first, and gasped. There were huge cracks in the floor, and everything had been ransacked. There were clothes, toys, movies, and video games all over the floor of the living room. Plates, cups, and other dishware items were scattered about the kitchen and dining room. Looking up into the front entryway, I noticed that the door was wide open. A deeper feeling of panic and terror set in as I walked through the house and came into my room, parents in tow.
I entered my room cautiously, and looked at the horrid mess. Books, journals, video games, movies and more were thrown about in what looked like someone had thrown a fit. I stepped over as much as I could, and immediately noticed my window was wide open. I looked at my mirror as I noticed something out of the corner of my eye, and turned around in horror. In blood red letters across my wall, it read:
"ALWAYS WATCHING"
