"How far is this damn castle?!" I thought to myself. It felt like days but I've only been traveling for a few hours. This was a very humid day on the island. What did I expect living here in the Bermuda Triangle anyway? I'm used to walking far but this was ridiculous. "Roger, you're almost there. You can make it." said the voice in my head. No, I'm not crazy. I just miss my younger sister is all. After a mission going wrong she gets blasted by some God awful ray and seemed to have been vaporized. I can't help but thinking it's all my fault.

That was months ago. Now here I am trudging through thick forests to get to my destination; Castle Vexel. A fortress where one of the many townships are located here, but this one is set so far away from the rest for a reason. I come on top a hill and see the gigantic fortress of a castle sitting hidden from the rest of the world. "Careful." the voice warned. "I'm detecting something moving very fast around the valley." Oh right, it's not a voice in my head, but the voice of the main computer coming in through my magic wand. The tech savvy of our group, Calvin O'Hare, made the computer sound like my sister to cheer me up. Oh yeah, a computer talking like a sixteen year old girl helps forget my sister's loss. As if! "I can assure you, Olivia, we're okay." I told the voice. I named it Olivia after my sister.

I came to the front of the castle, a wide yet not very tall wooden door guarded by a single foot soldier. He was unarmed, but he doesn't need to be. He stops me as I approached the gate. "Halt!" he called out. in a semi-deep voice. "State your name, mortal." I made sure I stood tall and stared, "I am Terrifico. The fabled masked sorcerer of Sklantia. I come seeking council with your lord on behave of me and my band of heroes regarding an evil plaguing this land." The guard did not move. "My lord does not wish to speak to a child." Excuse me? I'm 17, thank you! "Leave now before I decide to kill you now." I tried to reason with him. "But kind sir, I must see lord Vexel at once. It is of upmost importance regarding the Crimson Comrades." I hope I'm saying all this right like Calvin taught me. The guard didn't seem pleased with his eyes fading to a bloodshot red. I jumped back. "Alright, I'll be on my merry way." I finally told him and turned with a swish of my cape. "If ever you return to this valley I'll see to it you don't leave." he threatened. I walked away afraid how the rest of the group would say when I tell them their leader failed.

Olivia warns me about the moving object. "Roger, it's getting closer. It shows to be following you." I prepared my wand for battle. I heard a rustling in the bushes. I whipped around to see a figure move. I was far enough from the fortress to not be seen or heard by the guard. "I know you're out there." I called out. "Fight me now while you have the opportunity." Right from the brush a cloaked figure leaps into the air . But before it could touch the ground I wave my wand at the figure and stopped it right above the ground. The body stayed frozen, but it's eyes and face was allowed to move. I pull back the cloak to reveal a girl. A young woman with long ebony black hair and fiery gold eyes. She wore a black mask covering around her eyes to hide her identity, like me. Her fangs were visible behind her ruby red lips when her mouth was open trying to get at me. "You are one of them." I said to her. She grunted and tried to break free of my spell but it was no use.

"You can drop the act. You're not impressing anyone." She told me. Thanks for nothing, brainiac. "Why do you wish to see my lord?" She asked. "What's it to you?!" I said dropping the act. "We are capable of defending ourselves from anyone that tries to invade our land." "Sweetheart, you do not know what this guy has up his sleeves. He's capable of slaughtering thousands, including you and your people." She didn't seem to buy it. "Now who are you?" I asked her. "I am called Lamia. And you, Mr. Masked Magi, are suppose to be a myth of this island." I tried not to laugh. "It's Terrifico, and I am no myth. Your people, on the other hand, are nothing but a classic horror movie icon." I teased.

"If this man is so powerful like you claim, then take me." She insisted. I wasn't sure to take the offer. "What do you have that your lord doesn't?" I asked. "A king cowers in his castle. I will fight along side the rest of your warriors." I happily accept the offer and unfroze her. "Well Lamia, welcome to the team." I said, shaking her hand. "We have a ways to travel. Our headquarters is to the Far East. In Dino country." I warned. "For a skillful and wise magician you really are a fool. I can fly us over there." She was right, I was pretty stupid to not think of that. "Well a young woman such as yourself couldn't possibly-" Before I could finish she wrapped her arms around my chest and lifted us both into the air. This was something I never thought I'd be able to do. I held onto my top hat before the wind could blow it away. "What am I looking for?" She asked. "There's a huge white dome hidden within a canyon, that way." I said pointing south east. She headed that way. We would have been there in no time if it hadn't been for our sudden delay.

Halfway across the island we narrowly dogged a bright blue beam of ice as she started to aim for the ground. I waved my wand to slow us down. We landed safely for the most part. A few scrapes from the trees but nothing bad or broken. "What was that?!" Lamia asked. I shrugged. Just then a silver blur comes speeding through the woods and knocks me on my back to the ground. It got me in the stomach. I tried to stand but it came and got me back on the ground from behind. I knew who was causing all this trouble.

In a flash the blur materialized right in front of Lamia with his hand wrapped around her neck, pinning her against a tree. It was Momentum; a hot headed speedster machine working for Lord Crimson. And as if on cue, out came a gigantic, hunched over monster with icicles for claws and tuffs of white fur covering his chest and back with fangs coming out from his lower jaw. With blood red eyes this abomination had to be known as Frost Beast. Another one of the Crimson's flunkies. He grabbed Lamia in his giant hand and held her tight, squeezing her till she could barely breath. Momentum faces me and crosses his arms giving me that smug look I despise knowing he means to play with his food. "Well now. Lookie here, Frostie." he says. "Terri's got a girlfriend." Lamia starts to break free of the beast's grip. He uses both hands to keep her in his grasp. Momentum notices this. "Wow. She's a feisty one too!" he exclaims. He walks over to her.

"You leave her alone!" I called out. "Or what? You're gonna zap us with that dinky little wand?" Momentum said mockingly. That got me mad, but before I could do any damage Lamia chimed in. "No, I'll mess both of you up myself!" she exclaimed bursting out of Frost beast's hands. She performs a high kick and knocks Momentum onto his shiny metal rear end and gives Beast a few good punches to the chest knocking him down too. Before they could collect themselves, Lamia picks me up again and flies us out of there. I make sure to throw out a smoke screen to cover our escape. "You can run!" Momentum yelled out. "But you can't stop our lord from his plans!"
