Ok, without further a due...

The first chapter of Breaking Silence...

______________________________

I lay on top of the many pillows on the window seat as I take a good look outside to the wonderful view I have that overlooks the entire east side of the kingdom. The kingdom of Blaskis.

It looks like a wonderful day out, but I can't find it in myself to make my feet move towards the door. The sunlight streams through the window illuminating the cream colored walls that surround my room, as well as my face. I look around my room with a very faint smile on my lips, reliving a memory.

~flashback start~
Mother and I were in the music room. Her surprise for me on my 9th birthday.
Mother was playing a light, happy tune on the piano, while the sunlight illuminated the cream colored room.
In between my giggles and dancing, I pause every once in a while, looking at how the sunlight highlighted my mother's beauty.
I turn to the door and see father.
Father had just finished working and joined us, laughing, singing, and dancing along.
Father then announced that I had yet another surprise.
I turned as the door was opening, to see our butler. He smiled and greeted me a happy birthday.
The butler stepped aside, and I saw a boy who looked two years older than me.
"Ethan, do you mind introducing yourself, again." My father asked the boy.
What I didn't understand was the fact that my father said 'again'.
Until I remembered, Ethan was my best friend when I went to grade school. More like the only time I went to a somewhat public school.
We spent the entire day in the music room dancing, singing, laughing, and eating.
The best day of my life.
~flashback end~

I stop looking around when my eyes land the brochure on my night stand, and I reach over and pick it up, my smile fading. Examining it, I can't help but to sigh. There is no possible way father would let me go to such a common academy, even if the academy is private.

I haven't left the palace in almost three years. I haven't even spoken a word. I still blame myself for mother's disappearance.

Ever since then, my father has tripled my security. My father also keeps trying to convince me that I didn't have anything to do with her disappearance, but no one really knows what happened that night. I shudder at the memory, but I am suddenly taken back to reality when a knock sounds from the door.

"Excuse me miss?" Calls a maid from my door. She peeks her head in to see if I was awake. I nod towards her as if to say I was listening. "Well, your father wishes to see you..." She trails off. Then, I nod again, as if to say 'I'm coming'.

My mind goes off again as I wonder what he could possible want at 8:15 in the morning. My lessons don't start till ten, and he doesn't usually need help with his work till noon.

The maid looks at me with, well I'm not quite sure what emotion, and leaves. I sigh. It's the same everyday. A maid comes in (always a different one), tries to talk to me in some sort of way. I'm guessing my father's doing. Then, when I don't speak, they leave with the same expression. I'm guessing sympathy or something. It gets tiring.
