the world was a devastated everyone had woken up to a dangerous world full of deadly predators both human and animal the nuclear war had started it all killing and changing millions of lives, but when all seemed hopeless and dark a leader rose. He built walls made of hematite and obsidian to keep out all the dangerous creatures that lurked in the dark. He was a hero that saved the people of his city he seemed to be a such good saint that no one questioned why he wore a mask and kept his true identity hidden, by  calling  him self commander Riptide....... It was a dark night when Everyone saw his true character.

John Patterson had sat to dinner with his family he was thankful to finally sit down after a hard day of work at the fortress. When you worked under commander riptide you had to expect to not get any rest till the end of the day. Even though the job had tough schedules  it had good pay and john never saw the commander as a cruel man till that morning. Over two hundred worked at the fortress security, maintenance workers, electricians, and one secretary for commander riptide, her name was Helena Goldfinch. flash back of the day: It had been a busy day an electrical storm had gone through the city and had shorted out most of the electricity in the  fortress luckily the building had back up generators but because of the power needed for the fortress the generators would eventually burn out john was just one of the three electricians in the facility which was hardly enough for such a big building, he and the other 2 electricians hurried around changing and fixing all the electrical problems, he had finally reached the last electric panel he had started working on the panel when he heard a voice down the corridor " i'm sorry commander iii-it won't happen again" "no mistake goes unpunished" boomed a voice. John leaned over the corner to see Helena goldfinch and commander riptide "please i promise you i won't make any mistakes again" Commander Riptide uncapped his katana sword and slashed across the right side of her face. Helena clasped the side of her face, tears rushed down her face "go clean yourself up" the commander ordered she hurried down the hall on her right cupping her face in her hand.  John felt  anger burn through his bones , john remembered last month when he had passed by Helena through the hall he had noticed that she had a wrap on her wrist he had asked her what happened to learn that she had cut her wrist while cooking even then she had seemed nervous, but now he knew the truth it had been a punishment from commander riptide, while deep in thought he accidentally snipped the wire in the panel his first reaction was to fix it but then he remembered what he had witnessed in the hall and decided to leave it was the least he could do to get revenge.  present time:   john sat listening to his wife and kids speak of their days when suddenly a knock came at the john stood up half in a daze to answer it there on the stone doorstep stood commander riptide and his guards. "hello Mr. Patterson come with us after all a mistake doesn't go unpunished,".....

As commander riptide entered the town square all voices became silent and all eyes and faces turned to stare.  the air felt cold and dead as if funeral had started to proceed.  "Dear people of Vadora i have noticed that  the  respect in this empire has begun to dwindle but never mind a whole speech about respect for leaders but instead let me tell you that i have a lesson in plan to teach you what happens to those that disobey their leaders" though no one could see his face everyone could feel the cold sneer that lingered  on Riptides face. "Mr. Patterson here, '' he said pointing " decided it would be a good idea to rebel against his lead by purposely  making a mistake. What do you have to say for your self Mr. Patterson?'' All stood still waiting for a response. "All i have to say is that you are cruel being who deserves no respect" everyone gasped at this response. The commanders eyes became full of sharp anger " your wrong Mr. Patterson i deserve full respect"  With the look of hate in his eyes the Commander slashed his sword across the throat of John Patterson. Cries of shock and terror echoed though the walls of Vadora  as blood stained the dust colored ground to crimson. " May everyone remember the lesson of tonight that if anyone should try to strike against me the consequences will be severe"  he turned to Ms. patterson  looming over her and the children   "i Expect the funeral to be lovely What other sort of gathering would be fit for a famly man struck down in his prime." And with that last remark he strolled from the town square into the darkness.
