Trying to get along with the bad boys

Chapter 1

 Kai steps out of his car and puts on his backpack . He looks at himself in the window of his car adjusting his light blue sweater and fixing his messy icy white hair, making sure he was ready for his first day at SM university.

He shuts the trunk of his car after he gets out a gym bad and two heavy suitcases. He takes in a deep breath mentally preparing himself for the hell that was to come, junior year collage.

He drags all his stuff to the school entrance and momentarily drops all his stuff to take a good look at the world he was about to enter after he took another step forward. He stared at the tall brick buildings, fancy statues, and a crowd of hundreds of guys and girls hanging around random places on campus having fun enjoying the college life. The thoughts and memories of his old school that haunted his dreams flashed in his head. He quickly shook away the thoughts and focused back on the campus. He knew he'd never fit in or make any friends, but this was a new place, a new school. One of the best universities in fact, and it looked better, he's sure the people are better to , rite? How hard could it really be? A smile crept up his face as he pushed up his round black rimmed glasses and told himself

"What could possibly go wron-" he was cut off when a flying football smashes him in the face causing his body to crash against the cement ground.

"Aah..." he hissed at the pain as he felt around his face and saw blood on his hands and he tried to sit up. He felt around the ground for his glasses and when he looked up with his blurry vision he saw a guy running towards him. The guy came to a stop and knelt down next to Kai offering his hand. Kai looked a him thankfully and gave the guy his hand. The guy slapped away Kai's hand, "Not your hand looser!" He grabs the football and ran back to his friends. Kai tries to brush it off and continues the search for his glasses.

"Need some help?" A different, more nicer looking guy, came out of nowhere and picked up his glasses and handed them to Kai. Kai looked up at him questioning is he really was going to help or it was another prank or something.

"Here, let me help you." Before Kai could protest the guy wrapped one his arm around Kai's waist and placed Kai's arm around his shoulders and lifted him off the ground.

"T-thank you." Kai stutters at the sudden physical contact. The guy smiled warmly at Kai but his smile drops when he sees the right side of Kai's face, "Oh god Your bleeding!" He looked back at the kids who were staring at Kai and laughing in amusement.

"Did they do this to you?" Kai nodded his head, "Oh....yea, they were throwing around a football and it kind of just...um, hit me and I fell..." He glanced at the group through the corner of his eyes and then stares at the ground in embarrassment. The guy glares at the group one last time before focusing back on Kai, "I'll take you to the nurses office."

"Wait! What about my luggage?" Kai said gesturing to his stuff on the ground a few feet behind them.

"Oh, I'll ask someone to bring it in once we get there. Don't worry." The guy smiled warmly at Kai and led him to the office.

"There's nothing to worry about. The bruise on you face should heal in 3-4 days, same for your ankle just try not to use it to much." She turns to her clipboard and writes down on a small piece of paper , " just remember to change your bandages 2 times a day and apply this medicine , ok?" Kai nods and the nurse gives him one last smile and walks out the room. Kai lays down on the bed in the nurses office and the guy who brought him in walks in soon after. He slowly shuts the door behind him and sits down next to Kai.

"So, um, feeling any better?"

"Yea kind of. She says I'll be good in a few days." They exchange warm smiles and then the guy notices something.

"What's that in your hand?"

Kai looks down at his hand,

" Oh this? It's the medicine the nurse told me to apply."

"Oh ok! Wait here. I'll be back in a few minutes after I pick it up." He grabs the small piece of paper and jumps off the bed.

"Wait!" Kai sits up on his bed. "What's your name? Your helping me so much, I think I should at least know who you are."

The guy smiles back at Kai and introduces himself, " I'm Suho, a junior majoring in music."

Kai smiles back, " My names Kai also a junior, majoring in dance."

"Nice to meet you Kai, now if you'll excuse me, I'll go get the medication and be rite back." And with that Suho was out the door leaving Kai to lay back down. Kai has this bad habit where he tends to what he's thinking out loud.

" 'What could possibly go wrong'... Why would I say something so dumb? Ugh! That was so embarrassing... I knew this was gonna be bad. I got bullied on my first day here...ugh!" Kai punches the pillow next to him.

" Are you ok in here?" The nurse opened the door half way and poked her head in room.

"Huh? Oh, yes. I-I'm fine thank you." He bowed his head slightly and she returned back to her desk. He mentally cursed himself for being so loud and turned over on the bed now facing the wall, "But it's not so bad I guess, at least I made one friend...we are friends rite? Well all he did was help a person he saw in need, but then again he didn't have to stay with me or go get my medications. But maybe he's just a really nice guy."

"Aww thanks for saying that." Kai sat up and stared at the door in shock. He didn't even hear Suho walk in with the bag of medicine.

"H-how long have you been standing there?" Kai stutters thinking he might have heard his small argument he was having with himself.

"Hmm, let's see." Suho squinted his eyes and looked up pretending to be deep in thought, "Well I herd the part where you said I was a nice guy, and the part where you were having a self-debate about our friendship." Suho looked back down at Kai and smiled his killer smile. Kai mentally slapped himself for thinking out loud again.

"Oh, you heard that?..."

"Yup."

"So...are we, um, friends?" Kai stared at the floor noticing how stupid he sounded. Suho let out a laugh and sat down next to and swung his arm around Kai's shoulder.

"Of course! Why not?" Suho reached over to the small table beside the bed and grabbed the bag he brought in. "I brought your medicine along with some other things. Here, I'll change your bandages." Suho knelt down in front of Kai and Kai's left foot on his knee. He unwrapped the bandage and wrapped around a new one after cleaning it and applying medicine on it. He sat down on the bed and took of the bandage on Kai's cheekbone and did the same. Kai hissed at the pain but Suho blew on it and said, "Don't worry it'll be over soon." He finished applying the medicine and put on a sponge bob bandage. "There! All done." Suho held both Kai's shoulders and smiled at him like a proud mother would.

"Thanks." After a pause Kai spoke again. "Can I ask you something?"

"Yea, of course. Ask away."

"Why are you being so nice to me?" Kai was genuinely curious, he thought it was strange that Suho was acting like this to a person he met about 20minutes ago.

"What do you mean?"

"Well you helped me out a lot, but you don't even know anything about me. Just my name that's all."

Suho chuckled and looked at Kai "I don't know, I guess I've always been like this. Whenever I see a good person I automatically tend to like them and want to know them more them."

"How do you know I'm a good person?"

"Hmmm, well you just....you know, have that vibe....if that doesn't sound strange."

"Oh, no it doesn't sound strange. Thanks again."

"Hay! How many times are you going to thank me? We're friends, you shouldn't do that and make me feel like a stranger." They both exchanged smiles. "Oh and by the way, orientation will start in about half an hour, think you can go?"

" Well I don't have much of a choice. If my dad finds out I skipped orientation he'll kill me."

Suho chuckled, "Who's your father?"

"Oh I'll drop that bomb some other day."
