Chapter 7: Play Day

Jade's POV

The past week's been horrible. Rehearsing for the play (without Shawn, because I apparently hurt his girlfriend. Ugh. Tori's non-stop make-out sessions with Shawn. Bleh!)

The entire class was in the theatre, and Tori's play was before mine. 

"Okay! Action!" Sikowitz said.

Tori's POV

Here I go with me and Rex's play. I am literally crying silent tears, I wanna get out of here really bad. 

I started to go on my phone and act natural, it seemed to be working.

"HEY BABY!" Rex comes in and screams in front of my face, dropping the phone and making a crack on the screen.

"Rex! What are you doing!?" I exclaimed at him.

"It's babe, Tori. Call me babe!" 

"O-okay. Babe! What was that for?" 

"I thought I'd surprise you.

"You gave me a heart attack!"

"Oh here, let me fix it!" He says and kisses that part. 

"Okay! That's that!' Sikowitz said and made us both sit down. "You both get an F." 

"Thanks a lot, Rex!" I glared at him. 

"Next up, Jade and Shawn!" 

Jade's POV

Here we go, I rehearsed with Tori for the song we were gonna sing against Shawn. I'm ready for a battle.

"Whoa! Tori why are you with Jade?" Sikowitz asked, Shawn gave me a glare. 

"We're doing a duet..." I began.

"No extra in your play! Just you and Shawn!" 

I groaned as Shawn went up on stage and played the backtrack. I dozed off and tried not to pay attention. He started to sing.

Girls in the room started at him in amazement. 

Turns out that no one can replace me

I got out my phone and just listened to the song I'll be singing against him. Honestly, my past is eating me up. I really wanna win this competition, but I wanna stop being mad at him and just be friends, I mean he is hot but Tori has his heart.

Everyone applauded, I kept my mouth shut so I won't get into more trouble.

"Jade, what'cha got against him?" Sikowitz asked as I went up on stage.

"This one's not just for Shawn, but for all of you. Well, almost all of you." I gave Tori a devilish smile and started to sing.

Shawn's POV

I watched Jade sing her song as I thought things through. Maybe Jade's just furious about something, and taking her anger out on me and Tori. I'm sure something's just in her mind that needs to be let out. I didn't fight back and listened to her song.

I smiled as I admired her singing. She sounds so good. She looks at me and makes a confused face.

Jade's POV

I continued to sing, only to find Shawn smiling at me? Eh, maybe he's acting up. I finished the song and sat back down.

The crowd stayed silent. This made me a bit mad. 

"APPLAUD!!" I screamed and they instantly did what I said. I sat back down while Shawn leans over.

"You're a good singer..." He whispers as I agreed. 

"Thanks, same with you." I replied.

"Listen Jade, can I talk to you?" He asked, I looked at him weirdly as I nodded and he took me outside the theatre during the middle of class.

"So, I think I know why you're mad at me..." He begins.
