Pokemon Ranger 1: The Fight for Fiore (Complete)

Chapter One: A New Ranger April 11, 2006 7:30-11:00

Lunick opened the letter hardley believing it was true. After graduating from the Ranger School he had sent a letter to the Ringtown Ranger Base hoping to become a member. After waiting the Ringtown Ranger leader Spenser had answered his letter personally. He was told to take a ferry to Fall City and meet Spenser at the town square. In the letter was a uniform. Even though it was a little big he was excited. He boarded the ferry to Fall City at early morning. As he saw Fall City come into view he took a deep breath and exited the ferry.

He was not expecting a city so massive in such a small region.

Fall City was the largest city in Fiore located on the eastern side. It has a large port to the east used for getting to the distant Summerland. The southern part of town had a fountain and various shops and stalls. In the central area houses and tall apartments as well as City Hall and the Ranger Base. The uppermost part of Fall City was a small park with a large clocktower in the center. Also to the east was a small factory that was locked down. In the west there was a manhole that led to a sewer system and a grassy route led to a cavern.

A Box was moving shaking
Lunick: That's weird
Lunick walked over to the box and a panicked Minun jumped out
Minun: Minun
The Minun ran toward the city.
Lunick: Well I suppose I'll just head toward the city.
As Lunick made his way toward the center of the city he saw the same Minun being bullied by a Houndoom
Lunick: Cut it out
???: Capture On
Lunick turned around and saw a man in his early thirties. The man used a capture styler and captured the Houndoom.
???: Are you the new Ranger
Lunick: Yeah I'm Lunick and you are?
Spenser: Spenser
Spenser: So nice to meet you and this is for you
Spenser gave Lunick a Capture Styler. It felt awkward in his palms. Spenser quickly showed Lunick how to use the Styler

Lunick: So how do we get to Ringtown
Spenser: I got a real treat for you
Spenser whistled earsplittingly
A Fearow swooped by. Lunick and Spenser each grabbed a leg. The same Minun from before panicked and jumped on Lunick's leg
Lunick. Woah
Lunick almost lost his balance but he held on for the long trip to Ringtown seeing the vast land of Fiore
As soon as Fearow landed in Ringtown Minun scattered
Spenser: Don't worry about the Minun he must be unfamiliar territory and panicked. I'm sure he'll be fine
Lunick: OK
Lunick took in Ringtown
Ringtown was a small town with one or two farms. It had a few houses scattered here and there. To the south a Ranger Base and to the North a small forest. However the forest later grew into a dark foreboding woods.
Spenser: Hey let's go
Before the two could walk in the building a girl opened the door
???: Welcome back leader
Spenser: To formal, call me Spenser,
???: K

???: Oh are you the hot new rookie prospect Spenser was talking about
Lunick: Uh-huh
Lunick hoped he wasn't blushing
Solana: I'm Solana
Lunick: Lunick
Spenser: All right let me show you the inside of a Ranger Base
The inside of the base was cool it had a grass floor and behind a desk sat a smiling pretty lady (an Operator) who was handling a computer. There was a second level and Lunick wondered what was up there.

Lunick: Oh hey
A tall but stout kid with rust colored hair with an odd voice had said that
Murph: I'm Murph but you can just call me Murph I've been a Ranger for a while but I'm not good at it so my rank is still low
Spenser: Thank you Murph that reminds me Lunick as a Ranger you have a Rank right now your Rank is 1 it goes up to 10
Lunick: Ok seems simple enough
Lunick was still looking at Solana. An energetic Plusle jumped on her shoulders.
Solana: But there are Top Rangers
Spenser: Yes but the Ranger Union has been around for 45 years and there are only 7
Lunick: Are you
Spenser: Yeah I was the third Top Ranger
Spenser laughed childlike and proudly
Murph clapped.
Spenser: I was made the third Top Ranger with my partner Joel.
Solana: The leader of Fall City.
Spenser: Correct if you ever meet him, he'll tell you he was the third Top Ranger although he says the same about me
Lunick: So what do I do
Solana: We usually just go on patrol until given a mission from our leader. If the mission is important enough
Lunick: We rank up
Solana looked impressed. Lunick smiled
Spenser: So we'll just wait.
Lunick: For what
Solana: Oh it always happens

Murph's Bio
Date of Birth: March 11, 1988
Hair Color: Rust
Eye Color: Brown
Sign: Pisces
Strengths: Cheery, Optimistic
Weaknesses: Dumb, Goofball, Slow

A man ran into the Ranger Base in a frantic
Spenser: hello Larry what's the matter
Larry: You know perfectly well leader my darling Tailow ran away
Spenser: This sounds like a perfect mission for our new rookie Lunick
Lunick: Oh ok
Larry: You can't be serious leader look at his face a less trustworthy face I have yet to see.
Larry leaves in a huff
Lunick: Thanks feeling the love
Solana giggled and Lunick smiled.
Spenser: Don't mind him
Solana: Yeah he said the same for me
Spenser: Anyway it's your first mission so you need to truck it and not fear failure.
Lunick. Your right it does seem trivial
Lunick expected to be chewed out
Spenser: True Larry obsesses over Tailow so Tailow usually go's to the Lyra Forest to get a break
Murph: I always got stuck doing Larry's missions
Solana: Hey me and Spenser will come with you
As they entered the Lyra Forest Lunick saw that the foreboding forest was locked up and guarded but a calm path leading to a tunnel was not.
Larry: My darling Tailow's got to be around here somewhere
Lunick sighed and practiced his capturing technique on wild Chicorita's and Zigzagoon's. Lunick slowly got the hang of it.
Lunick then saw a Tailow
Lunick: Capture On
Lunick successfully captured Tailow
As Lunick walked back Larry ran up to him overjoyed
Larry: Oh amazing glorious ranger you saved my Tailow
Lunick: All right then
As Solana, Spenser, Lunick left back to the Ringtown Base Spenser declared
Spenser: Mission Clear
Lunick: So what do I do now
Spenser: Solana take Lunick out on patrol.
Solana: Roger
Solana struck a fancy pose
Lunick: That was cool
Solana: Thanks all Ranger have them
Lunick started thinking about his own pose but he was brought back to reality by a cry
10:45am

Minun: Minun
Solana: Oh gosh we have to help the Minun
Lunick: It's the same Minun I saw in Fall City
Solana looked at Lunick
Lunick: It sort of followed me here.
Solana: Well if it likes you Capture it
Lunick: Capture On
Lunick calmed down the Minun with a lot of effort.
Minun: Minun
Solana's Plusle jumped down from her shoulder and extended its paw
Plusle: Plusle
Minun: Minun
Plusle jumped on Solana's shoulder and Minun did the same to Lunick
Lunick laughed.
Solana: Lunick I think that Minun wants to be your Partner Pokemon
Lunick: You Ok with that Minun
Minun let a playful jolt of electricity out and nodded his head
Minun: Minun
Solana: Plusle's ability is the same as Minun's so I'll teach it to you. You see if you charge up your Styler Minun feels a bond with you and Minun will release jolts of electricity to stun the Pokemon. This will make it stay in one place. This makes it easier to convey your feelings of friendship to the Pokemon.
Lunick and Solana checked things out and made small talk.
Lunick: All right let's go report back to Spenser
