The water ran red with the blood of his last victim. I looked up and saw him staring back at me in the reflection of the mirror, with his red eyes, a smirk spread across his face.
"You liked it, didn't you?" he said.
I ignored the question and continued to clean myself up.
"Admit it, Tyler. You liked it." I could hear the smirk in his voice, heavy with poison.
I didn't like it. And he knew I didn't. We did share the same brain. So why does he always ask? If I liked killing innocent people? Enjoyed their pleads for mercy?
"Tyler?"
I spun around quickly, hoping Josh wouldn't see the pinkish water running down the sink.
"Why are you up?" he asked groggily.
"I, uh, had a nightmare," I improvised, hoping he would believe the lie.
I stared at him, waiting for a response as he stood there, all sleepy-eyed with his head tilted to the side. It was...cute.
I dismissed the thought immediately. I had a girlfriend, a hot one at that, and I'm happy with how things are now. Not the whole Blurryface thing, but with Josh and I's friendship and my current relationship. I wouldn't trade it for anything. And why would I even like a guy who has red hair, rad tattoos, sick drum skills, and muscles larger than my self-esteem?
"Are you okay?" Josh asked, the slightest bit of worry in his tone.
"Yeah. I-I just need a minute."
Josh nods in response and walks away. I turn back around and see that Blurry was still there with the same red eyes and smirk I knew all too well.
"See you next time," he says, disappearing from the mirror.
