The robotic man stopped. In front of him was the body of a young woman. She was slowly bleeding away from a deep wound in her right arm.

Error. Its programming prioritized getting medical help for the girl, but his current mission prioritized stealth. The robot's self aware circuiting chased itself in loops until the system halted and defaulted to the operator's logic.

oOo

A man with bright teal hair scowled as his cat video suddenly stopped. An error message popped up on his screen. He pulled another potato chip out of his bag and clicked the message, surprising himself with what the robot had run into.

"Shit, shit, shit...what the hell?" his face twisted with confusion and shock. Well, I can't just leave her to die...

oOo

I open my eyes and groan. My mind moves slowly for a few seconds, confusedly trying to sort out what's going on. My head throbs with a distant, dull pain, and I try to move my right arm. Bad move. The heavily bandaged gash on my arm screams in protest. I glance down at my other my arm to see an IV.

How am I not dead? I'm lying on what feels like a cheap mattress in what looks like someone's guest room. The walls are covered in light yellow wallpaper, and it's filled with miscellaneous cheap-looking wooden furniture. Where the hell am I? I think I'm alone. I haven't heard any breathing or footsteps.

I turn my head to the other side, languidly glancing through my surroundings. Several moments seem to slide by, and pain invades my senses as the dampening effects of sleep wear off.

I hear footsteps outside of the room.

A lock clicks, and one of the doors opens, revealing a short man with spiky, chin-length, medium brown hair. He's wearing a black leather jacket and jeans, and is staring at me impassively. I match his cold gaze. He's looking at me as if I'm a broken toy and he's trying to decide whether I should be fixed or thrown out.

The man sighs and nods to someone I can't see, breaking the aggressively calculating eye contact.

"She's awake, Droid," the man states, allowing another man into the room, this one with glasses and shorter black hair. He's wearing some sort of business suit. He sits down in a chair at the other side of the room with inhumanly good posture. The brown-haired man exits the room, and my new roommate doesn't say a word. I turn my head the other way towards the wall. The room I am in lacks clocks or windows, so I have no idea what time it is. Hell, I don't even know the date.

"Do you know what time it is?" I feel as if I'm asking air; I can't even hear the man breathing.

"It is twelve thirty-two PM, October eleventh," he answers, in a strange monotone and mechanical voice.

"How long was I asleep?"

"Approximately twelve hours."

"Where am I?"

"Administrator password is required to access this information."

"Oh..um, cancel?" I say, unsure if he is actually human. He looks real enough, but something about him is off. He blinks. I stare a second longer at him, wondering if he'll react to anything in his environment without a prompt.

"Are you human?"

"Administrator password is required to access this information."

"Why am I alive?"

"Administrator password is required to access this information."

"Who saved me?" Judging by the way that shorter guy looked at me, I don't think it was him.
