The fog that blanketed the Parti Pris Christian Preparatory shimmered and gave the grounds an allure that awoke wilted flowers from their frozen graves, and also utterly confused all of the students who attended the school. Students returning from spring break were always perplexed. However, every still manages to make it to all the assemblies. At this school everyone rallies around the idea that God is watching you. Possibly the most firm believer in this warning is Ivy Morton. Not only is she a devout Christian, but she believes in equality for those who deserve it. Born of African American blood, her burden is heavy. Always keeping in mind all the people who fought to get her here at this very school and that allowed her to lead this assembly fills Ivy with confidence. Her voice echoed throughout the auditorium like a melodious choir that was sing for their lives. As she spoke her jet black curly mane tossed and tangled under her grandfather's beret of the same color. It held so many stories in it's fabric, and reminded Ivy of him through its presence. Her grandfather is who inspired her to form the CSJ (Club for Social Justice) and give this speech at the assembly, which speaks for almost all of the underrepresented students of color. Ivy's grandfather would be proud, since this is what he fought for his whole life with the beret that Ivy cherished so much. Ivy spoke with great reverence about the fact that there was an abundance of black students who were rejected or turned away from joining sports. When a screech that was like synthesized nails on a chalk board. The room was dead silent for an instant, then there was an explosion of people running out of the auditorium like petals blooming and simultaneously wilting from a flower bud.
When everyone had finally arrived at the scene the sight was beautifully unbearable. Two boys hung like they were suspended by nooses created from roses. Blood streamed all over their body like crimson waterfalls. Their hands were connected by one red string tied to both of their pinkies as if they were human instruments plucking that solo cord. However the most terrifying sight is their most fatal injury, both of them were impaled by crosses so deeply that the became avant garde water fountains spewing the ends of crosses from their mouths. Strangely enough no one seem to to shriek in horror the crowd was dead silent like they were all attending a macabre art exhibit. Ivy closed her gaping mouth and took matters into her own hands. Speaking in a calm voice she shouted. "ALRIGHT, NOTHING TO SEE HERE!" That's what set everyone off, the crowd split with people running in a frenzy. That is when Ms. Beaunine sounded the siren setting on her bullhorn, and the crowd became mesmerized by its sound stopping everyone in their tracks. Ms. Beaunine with her perky pink aesthetic which accented the darker undertones of the rest of her wardrobe that made her voice even sweeter when she declared,
" Everyone please, move to your first period classes as quickly and quietly as you can. I will personally sort out this issue myself." Everyone began to move in the direction of their classes when Ms. Beaunine pulled Ivy from the crowd and gave her the look she always gave her when she wanted her to help her. Ivy began to walk away when Ms. Beaunine grabbed her wrist and spoke. "Can you grab Robin as well." Ivy nodded and then turned and rolled her eyes before she walked away. Robin was an odd girl, and it's not like Ivy had never dealt with odd people before, but Robin always seemed to be on the wrong side of the battle to her. She was pretty but hung out with all the awkward kids. Robin was obviously not gay, how could she be she wore the most decorative and frilly clothes? However, the biggest issue with Robin was that she was Ivy's biggest competition. Robin like Ivy created her own club for social justice, but it was a different kind. Robin was the leader of the GSA (Gay Straight Alliance), and was a firm believer that everyone chooses their own path. She also believed that everyone's voice counted no matter what. It also did not help that Robin's club was chosen over Ivy's to plead their case for the Student Council to push for equality on sports teams. As Ivy made her way to Robin she heard the faint sound of her tears. Ivy began to talk to break the tension and to maybe stop her sobbing.
