Things aren't normal anymore. We destroyed ourselves, the greed was stronger over the demand for peace. Governments around the world made military decisions and nuclear bombs were deployed everywhere. We thought the world was going to end... We thought everything was over, until we realized, we're still alive. As far as we know, we're the only ones. But we didn't just hide, we went and explored, now here we are. Struggling to survive. But we're nothing more than just alive... So we're going to survive.

What was left of the government has taken over. But that is why I followed my humans, and we went to find our own place. The world is more dangerous than it was before, but here we are on a journey to create our own life. But soon our expedition was interrupted. Tall humans with weapons captured us, they separated us, my canines and I were taken from our humans. We were put into these rooms, the walls were all white and there was a mirror on one side. We were left without food for 72 hours, I wasn't even sure what day it was anymore.

A loud sound came from where I assumed the door to the room was, after all I couldn't tell, it wasn't noticeable from the inside. I backed away from it, a human peeked in, wielding a long pole with a loop of rope on the end. A second human entered the room, who was also wielding a large pole with a fork like end on it, it seemed to have electricity going between the two prongs. I backed into the corner and bared my teeth in a snarl. Saliva began to build up at the sides of my mouth pooling out and hanging. I looked like a rabid beast, the first human I identified jumped back, but the second one pointed his electrified stick toward me. I barked and sat down, I returned to a passive position and tilted my head slightly. The first human stepped forward and put the loop over my head around my neck. He gave a slight pull and I decided he wanted me to follow. So slowly I padded after him. He took me to another room, this one had more weapons hung on the walls, and to my left a rack of armour, or was it parts to replace things. I curled my tail between my legs and tried to pull away, but the other man with the electrified stick pointed it at me again. I continued into the room, the first man put me on a table and attached a rope from myself to it.

Several minutes later another human in a lab coat entered the room, this time the human was female. I sat down and acted like I wasn't afraid, but I didn't act tough either, no way was I going to be touched with that dangerous stick. The human looked at me with sympathetic eyes, she looked like she didn't want to touch me. But as she got closer she started to say something, "Don't worry, you'll be fine. Just let me do what I have to do and you'll get out of here in no time." I squinted my eyes and stood tall, I understood what she was saying. I was confused as to what she was going to do. She walked over to the wall and grabbed a syringe and inserted a small piece of metal into it. Returning to the side of the table she grabbed my scruff and shot the needle into it. I pulled away and shook my pelt. She gave a short smile which soon faded as she walked to the opposite wall, she grabbed a piece of metal and returned to me, she then grabbed a second syringe, she inserted into my scruff again. This time my vision became blurry, and I slowly laid down, I couldn't stop myself.

Several Hours Later

I found myself back in the room, but this time when I got up there was nothing visibly different, but my hind leg I had injured before felt stiff, but it felt strong... I looked at my face in the mirror, and noticed that one of my eyes were a different colour. I turned in circles trying to see if anything else changed, but nothing did. I sat in the corner of the room for another hour, but it had seemed like days. The man with the rope pole returned, this time instead of growling I curled my lip at his stench, which then I noticed, my canines were a sterling silver instead of a pearly white. I closed my eyes as the human put the rope around my neck again and dragged me back out of the room and down a hall. This time we went into a different place, the hall toward it was dark and once we arrived there was another scary looking human leaning over a fire. He pulled out a shorter pole which looked like it had numbers on the end glowing red, he walked over to me and pressed it to my side, yelping I threw my opposite flank into the legs of the man holding me. I parted my jaws and grasped onto the leg of the man who touched me with the glowing stick. My flank felt like it was on fire, I let go of his leg and jumped up pushing the man over. I then pulled and yanked the pole from the second one who pulled out a thing that looked like a gun. I crouched and swayed my tail out behind me, snarling I jumped toward him but laid down and rolled to the left. He shot the weapon and I jumped up onto him, latching my jaws onto his arm and grinding my teeth on his flesh, I tasted blood in my mouth so I let go and grabbed his leg pulling it out from under him. I shook and got the rope stick off and bolted out of the room and down the hall way.

I wasn't sure how long I'd been running for but there were sirens going off, they were loud and annoying. But soon they stopped, I slowed to a walking pace and soon came to a stop. Twisting my ears as the faint familiar sounds of barking and snarling echoed behind me, they didn't smell like any dogs I knew, and the barks weren't a normal frequency. These weren't ordinary dogs, these were man made dogs, genetically modified and turned into killing machines... My fur rose in fear and I bolted away from the sounds, I could feel the breath of the man-made canines hot on my tail, I turned down hallway after hallway until I reached a dead end. The dogs had cornered me, but before they had time to act a human appeared, a female one and called them off, she sent them away. She reached toward me as if to show she was peaceful, "I won't hurt you, but you need to come with me so you don't get hurt." She said softly, I walked toward her, she reached to her side and put a collar around my neck, it was black and bared many silver spikes. She attached the leash to it and attached the other end to her belt.

She took me back to my room. I was exhausted from all that running to examine what happened to my flank. So I laid down in the middle of the floor and shut my eyes to rest. This had been interesting but I was determined to get out. I would eventually find my way... But that wouldn't be anytime soon. This place was weird, and she needed to find her friends.
