Caldwell Pov-

Joel's knuckles whitened as he took a right turn heading down the road by the dorms of the Uni.

Janessa has so many friends and there's no telling who she could be with.

We stayed out until 2 a.m. when nothing turned up, we figured she had to be okay.

Either that or she's dead in a ditch.

Sam Pov-

I looked down at the girl who stood in front of me. Her dark auburn hair rested in a now loose ballerina bun on her head, and her honey green eyes swan with a challenging spirit I couldn't help but indulge in. She was beautiful, but I'd never let myself project that thought. She wasn't afraid of me like the rest of the girls. Who were either dying to be with me, and so afraid of me they wouldn't look me in the eye.

She was different though. She wasn't begging at my feet for a date, or dodging me when they saw me in public.

I saw her a few days ago at the restaurant a group of friends surrounding her.

It was the reddish haired one who looked at me as if she wanted to pin me down.

While Base, avoided my contact, knowing our mutual hatred for each other.

Then there was Matana. The class A slut. She was so desperate that in her fear she probably would sleep with me if I wanted. But I didn't want her. She was scared of me, frightened when I walked through the door. And I'm not a fan of STD's either.

But Janessa was different.

She didn't look at me, with lust, fear, or even the hatred that her sister did. Her look was of; compassion, and understanding. like she knew me for who I am, and not for what people think I am.

Yes I've done the partying.

And the drugs.

And the sex.

Oh and of course the drinking.

But doesn't everyone?

I was more than some toy, or just some jerk that pushed people around.

Yes I'd had my fair share of fights.

And I'd done things my conscience told me to be ashamed of.

That's not what she saw.

She saw Sam.

Her eyes wondered over my chest as she met my gaze. Deep eyes, filled with embarrassment, and her cheeks were painted with a rosy glow; as I caught her in her inspection. "Like what you see, princess?" I smirked, letting out a chuckle. The color of her cheeks now matched the near scarlet as the blood rushed to the surface. Exposing her thoughts, as she ducked her head down, blocking her eyes from my view.

Janessa Pov-

I lowered my head, avoiding meeting his eyes. My womanly nature had overtaken my strong nature to ward off lust. He chuckled, and cupped my cheek pressing his stare deep into my soul. "It's okay, princess. I know you like it." that was all I could take. Yes I liked it. But what was I gonna say, oh sorry for being straight!? No. "I never said I liked it." My confidence whirled off my tongue and into the air. His eyebrow raised as he looked at me, "but I saw your eyes. The way they looked at me." "Could've been appalled by the amount of ink you've got covering your skin." I said double tapping his shoulder and spinning on my heels before walking back into the room I woke up in.

When I couldn't find my belongings, I strutted my rear end into the kitchen. "Where's my stuff?!" my voice demanded. "Over there." he said motioning to the table next to the wall. "Oh." I said, walking over to it. "Could I maybe borrow your shower?" I asked calm as I could be. "It's in the bedroom through the door." He said nodding to his bedroom door. "Thanks." I mumbled before walking in there.

Thankfully I was smart and always packed extra undies wherever I went. never knowing when Mother Nature might sneak attack and punch you in the face like a samurai. I dug through my bags looking for anything I could put on. With the amazing luck I have, I only found a sports bra, and a pair of yoga shorts. Great. Just great. I mumbled to myself as I walked into the little room, closing and locking the door behind me. I opened a few cabinets to find a towel and wash rag; I turned the knob causing a waterfall to spring from the metal shower head. I stripped of the clothes he put me in. Blushing at the fact that he'd already seen me half naked. I stepped into the warm water letting it relax my tense muscles. Cutting it short not wanting him to think I died, I shut off the water and got dressed. I slipped on my previous t-shirt and grabbed my stuff.

I walked into the kitchen and grabbed my other bags walking out the kitchen door towards the front door.

"Where are you going?" Sam asked, alarm tipping his tongue.

"Home." I stated simply.

"After what happened? No you're not." His voice grew nearer as he came behind me.

"Yes. I'm a big girl I can take care of myself."

"Oh and that was displayed fantastically tonight!" Sarcasm and a certain roughness filled his deep accent.

I rolled my eyes. "Take me home."

"Not at this time of night."

"Then what am I supposed to do!?" anger coursed through my vains.

"Stay here." he gently demanded.

A strange happiness filled me. I didn't want to leave anyways.
