"It's not like Lauren to miss school." Kate said.
She was right I've known Lauren all 4 years of high school and she never missed a day of school, especially 2 in a row.
"Jake!"
"Yeah?"
"Did you hear what I said"
"No. What."
"I said. You should go to Lauren's house after school and see what's going on."
What she didn't know was that I had called and texted her at least 26 times.
"Sure. I'll do it after school"
I was really worried about Lauren, we weren't a clingy couple but we were in love we had been together since sophomore year and now we're seniors and I don't want anything to be wrong.

The rest of the classes were kind of a blur. I didn't realize what I was doing until I parked my car at Lauren's house. Her car wasn't there but two police vehicles were. Suddenly feeling scared I ran to the door hoping for anything other then what was in my mind. I knocked on the big tall wooden door that I had always admired but all I was seeing was a tall door that if opened and certain words were used my whole life would change. It didn't even seem like 10 seconds until a police officer opened the door revealing a sobbing Mr. And Mrs. Parker. She looked at me with tear filled eyes and said the worst words imaginable
"Oh Jake. Lauren's missing."
