They were both messed up,
They knew it.
Everyone knew it.
She wasn't made for love,
She didn't want it.

The woman was smart, you could tell, she was neat, dressed in a black suit, black skirt, black shoes and a white shirt, all pristine looking, she was dressed for business that's for sure; although here business was kind of different not the everyday 9 to 5, more freelance, you arrive when called upon though the woman didn't mind she thoroughly enjoyed her work, it gave her some sort of thrill. The woman gazed fixedly at the girl in front of her that was sitting on a white chair with her arms in her laps, she assessed her features, her posture, her eyes she perceived; they had a dullness about it that the woman couldn't pinpoint. The woman noticed that the girl wasn't fazed by her stare, she wasn't even looking at her but the white wallpaper behind her as if it was something of interest. The woman decided to get her to talk.
"What is love to you?" she asked. The girl averted her eyes away from the wall concentrating them on the woman suddenly, her stare penetrating through her, sending a chill throughout her body.
"Love?" she spat the words in disdain. "Love is a disease to the soul a corruption you can't get rid of; take away. Love blinds you from who you really are, it makes you into the person your significant other wants you to be, and takes away your freedom, your dignity, your serenity. Love falls down and breaks, bringing you with it. Love isn't the beauty but the beast, love isn't heaven but hell, love isn't renewing but destruction. Love is what destroys people." the girl replied darkly. The woman was confused why did she think such things at such age. She must have been confused with her definitions.
"Isn't that hate?"
"Sort of, although hate is when you dislike someone so much, that if you and the other person were in an empty room with a knife in the middle, one or both would be dead."
"But they say there's a thin line between love and hate."
"So Love must be Hate."
"But why?"
"Because love made me tainted"

The woman looked at the boy and cocked her head to the side, he looked broken, not that it showed on his face or how he talked or how he dressed, she could just tell. Maybe it was the glint in his eyes that told a story that was too complicated to be right or the smile that failed to reach his eyes. How could he be smiling so much when he looks as though he has been dragged through turmoil.
"What is love to you?"
"Love?" he chuckled as if something was funny. "Love is a get away, a sweet escape from memories and the past. Love causes you to forget the problematic person you are and enjoy life. Sometimes love get's complicated but as long as the people are right, love is never wrong. Love is the greatest gift God ever gave man"
"Have you ever been in love?"
"No"
"But then- so why do you think love is an escape?"
The boy looked at the woman properly and the woman saw a glimpse of the emotion he was hiding the pain behind the smile, he sighed saying "Because I'm tainted and tainted people need an escape."
