"Did it Work"

"Good then let's go"
I was only a soldier at the time, fighting against aliens from a planet called epsilon, I didn't think much at the time of it but right now we're in a war, a real nasty one too. I had lost ten friends today but I wasn't willing to become one of them. We were fighting the covenant an alien force that threatened to destroy Earth. I was in the front line on our home planet Earth. I was with Sergeant Matthew at the time. We were fighting and racking up kills. We had almost killed all the aliens in Washington and we were just forcing them out.
"Throw a grenade" said our Sergeant. "OK, frag out!" Said one of the troops behind us. The covenant were very weak at this point. "They Are Weak! We Must Finish Them!" Said our Sergeant. At this moment a covenant aircraft carrier started taking the covenant back to their planet. "Shoot It Down!" I said. We un-loaded thousands to thousands of bullets at the ship not seeming to do any damage. "Move Foward!" Said the Sergeant, having his voice almost covered by the sound of bullets, people dieing, and yelling/screaming.By this point most of the covenant had been evacuated or killed. We had almost won this fight. In a couple of seconds they were all gone. It was silent, "Alright ladies, lets go back to base get yourselfs cleaned up." As we got our gear all packed up, one of the covenant raised from the pile of dead bodies and stabbed the Sergeant in the back with a energy sword.
"AHHHHH!!! DAMN IT!!!" He turned around and shot the damn thing in the face.
"SARGE NOOOO!!!" Said one of the soldiers. "Get A Medic!" I said The medic ran up to him and checked his heartbeat "He is still breathing!" Call in an Helicopter! We need to bring him to the base's infirmary! We brought him back to the base and the doctors there put him in a machine.
"Whats gonna happen to him doc?" I said
"He is going to be okay that machine can heal anything and anyone."
"Thank God doc, for you and this machine being here"
"Yep but its getting late, he should be ok in thr morning, Good Night."
"Good Night" That was the last word I said that night and for a while. I woke up in the morning to Sarge telling us to wake up.
"Wake up Maggots, time for breakfast" I went to our base's kitchen to see them serving eggs and bacon. It was very loud in the kitchen because almost everyone was in there. I got my food and went to go sit down next to Sarge along with some of my other friends.
"Hey Sarge, how you doing?" I said
"Alright I guess, I kind of just got stabbed in the back with an energy sword so I guess." He said
"Haha"
After breakfast I went to the firing range to get some practice.
I saw one of my friends there too. I shot for most of the day, I even skipped lunch just to shoot at targets. After having dinner and about to go to bed, then it struck us. I heard a huge explosion and our base siren go of, we were being attacked. Sarge was the first person to react.
"Were Being Attacked! Get Your Gear Ready!" Said Sarge
The whole base was loud and bullets were flying everywhere. I got my lucky Machine Gun, my armour on, and got ready to fight.
"Men, braise yourselfs we're about to go out to fight, I don't want to see any crying so get your stuff together, READY! 3! 2! 1! GO GO GO!!!"
"OOOHRAH!" We Screamed
We stormed out to the field where the covenant were attacking.
"Attack them on their weakest side, Don't Die My Brothers, Fight My Brothers!"
We keept on shooting and the field was covered with dead covenant and some of us.
"SARGE! We Got A Man Down!" Said one of the troops.
"Damn, Stay Alive My Brothers, FIGHT!" Said Sarge
The battle continued for one or more hours. Until no more covenant were seen. We stopped shooting. But we heard a grunting a loud grunting, we looked to go see what it was an covenant soldier. He had a wound in his knee and surrendered to us.
"What should we do Sarge? Kill it?" I asked
"No we will hold it prisoner, until a promblem arises to us."
"Ok Sir"
We took the prisoner to our cells at the bottom of our base.
"Well thats was intense, what do you guys think?"
Sean a good friend of mine said "I don't want to go through that hell again, so I would say that was pretty crappy and I wish that never happens again."
"You can say that again" Said Sarge
"Well once were done with this thing we can go hit the hay." I said
"Im looking foward to that" said Sarge and Sean
After putting the prisoner in a cell we all went to bed, it was 6 am at the time so I didnt expect to fall asleep that easily
"What are we going to do about this Sarge?" I said
"We will receive orders to do something later on" Said the Sergeant from the bunk above.
I sleept for two hours and then woke up.
"Damn I am tired" I said while yawning.
"Get use to it!" said everyone
Today I skipped breakfast and decided to go walk around out side the base.
Ahhh, what a beautiful day" I mumbled to myself. No one was around at that time everyone was inside still resting from what happened yesterday.
"Private!" Yelled Sarge
"What" I responded
"Your gonna want to see this!" He yelled again.
"Alright! Im coming!"
I entered through the doors in which he yell to me through.
"Im here Sarge whats the news."
"It the Covenant solider, He can talk."
"What!" I said "How? What did he say?"
"He keept on saying, Private Chang, I need to speak to Private Chang..."
"What? What are we going to do?" I said scaredly
"You need to investigate him, now." He said almost shouting
"Ok" I almost whispered as I walked down the halls to where the Alien was. I walked inside the room in which two guards and the alien were.
"Private, I need you to listen to me my name is Arbiter, I have betrayed my own people to tell you this, you are the one who is going to stop this madness you are the one who is going to save us from my own people, they want to destroy thousands of planets including yours, are you in or not?" Said Arbiter
"Hell yeah!" "I mean yes"
"Good, Your first mission is to infiltrate their command base on planet epsilon"
