Chapter 1

Arliyah's POV:

My name is Ar-lee-yah Sky Rose . I am a 17 year old Senior in high school . My school name is Glades High . I live in Henson . I have a older sister Arkiyah who is 23 and has a 3 month old son named Kingsley but we call him king . My dad has 3 other kids by different women I have never met .

My alarm goes off so I get up and go to my walk in closet to find something to wear . I decide to put on my white polo shirt with the black polo sign . I put on some regular jeans with my white and black huaraches .

My mom leaves for work at 3 in the morning . She works at the hospital . So I catch the bus at the corner sometimes or my boyfriend Zyair picks me up . Zyair is 20 . We met while he was still in school .

"Baby just stay at my house today" Zyair begged .

"I have to go to school . I missed a week already because of you."

"Please baby I wont ask anymore"

"Fine but if they call my mama this will be the last time she lets me go anywhere with you"

"She act like I'm a bad dude . I'm good to you" he said pulling into his driveway .

"Not all the time Zyair" I mumbled .

A while ago Zyair and I got into a argument because I gave a boy at school my number and he seen the text messages . It was just a little flirting here and there but he knew I had a boyfriend but Zyair just blacked out I guess and choked me near death . I passed out and when I woke up I was in the hospital . I didn't tell what happened but my mother just knew . I love Zyair so she couldn't keep me away from him so she stop trying . He apologized and has never choked me again but sometimes he does hit me or pull my hair .

"Baby girl you know I don't mean to hurt you it just I don't know my father comes out of me sometimes" He said kissing me .

" I know Zyair but you going to have to stop this cause I cant keep dealing with this . Its not right Zyair" I said tears coming down my face .

"I'm really sorry I promise I'm done if I do it again don't come back to me because I don't want to seriously hurt you Liyah" He said holding me .

"Lets go inside" I said getting out the car .

We got out the car and went inside Zyair's apartment . His apartment is the size of my house . Zyair sells drugs and participates in gang activities . He probably not the best person to be with but I really love him and he is the only person I have had sex with so that makes me want to stay with him even more.

We went to his bedroom and I laid on the bed on my back looking up at the ceiling .

"What you thinking about" Zyair said taking his shirt and pants off laying on top of me .

"Nothing I'm just tired" I said looking up at him .

"Come on now Liyah" he said rolling his eyes .

"I'm really not thinking about anything"

He started kissing me and roaming his hands everywhere . I really didn't feel like having sex but If I stop him he going to be mad and I don't want to have to deal with that .

Someone started banging on the door . He got up and put his shorts on so I got dressed and went to see who it was also .

"Baby you told me you wasn't going to be at home" some girl said busting in the door when he unlocked it .

"Really Zyair" I said holding back tears .

"Is this the lil fast lil girl you said you was only with for sex" the girl said .
