Later that evening in the Queen's chambers, and unexpected visitor arrived.
"My Queen, you are looking rather lovely this beautiful evening." King Lenox said as he stood casually in her chambers.
The Queen did not reply.
King Lenox stood behind her. "My Queen, I just complimented you," he said.
The Queen's chambermaids left the room and she closed that door behind them. "I know what you just said but I do not feel the need to reply," she said as she fixed her crown.
"Well my love you are somewhat sour this evening," he said as he stood behind her in the mirror
She turned around. "And you, my love are somewhat unwanted here."
The King laughed, "So shrewd."
Queen Hilary laughed. "Why thank you. Now shall we be on our way? I do believe I need to enter the Gala with you by my side."
King Lenox was trying to be less promiscuous and Queen Hilary trying to be that loving wife to him.
"The Grand Duke and Duchess, Victor and Lian of Geneva," said the announcer is a strong British accent.
Soon after, the trumpets began to sound. "Presenting the King and Queen of Britain, His Majesty King Lenox and Her Majesty Queen Hilary."
The entire room was shocked as Queen Hilary began to walk down the Grand Marble staircase to the Great Hall with her husband in arms.
Queen Maria began to whisper to her husband King Marq. "Is she trying to create another scandal? Her choice of dress leaves nothing to the imagination."
Queen Hilary's corset was lower than what was somewhat permitted.
King Marq just stared. "If the Señorita moved, this evening may turn into dawn."
¿Excuséme por favor? Queen Maria shouted at King Marq.
Queen Hilary just laughed as she graced the Gala with her presence.
King Lenox smiled as he addressed the room full of people. "I would like to thank you all for coming."
Queen Hilary spoke up. "And also, as of today all the many scandals have been put to rest," she said with a fake smile.
The waltz began to play and King Lenox and Queen Hilary began to dance.
"That was an excellent means of disguise my Queen," King Lenox said.
Queen Hilary continued to smile. "Why thank you."
"You can end the charade," he said.
Queen Hilary walked off the floor. "It is not a charade you bastard!"
He quickly followed her outside. "So then what is it?"
"You and your ways, I cannot comprehend them," she said.
The King was puzzled "My ways."
Queen Hilary stood up. "Yes! Your ways. You entered this marriage unfaithful then out of nowhere you want to abide by the rules of the Good Book: one man to one woman."
King Lenox stood behind her and gently embraced her. "You are a wonderful and beautiful woman, you deserve greatness."
She heart him repeat this line many times. "You are a master of words and a wizard of trickery Lenox, but this time, I will not be drawn into that again."
"Well my love, I will do whatever it takes to prove to you that I am now a faithful husband." King Lenox said holding her face gently and giving her a sweet kiss.
Eric saw the sweet, simple kiss the King and Queen shared. He closed the door behind him as tears filled his eyes. "He said those same words to me, and now he is saying those same words to her. She might be the Queen... but I thought he would at least love me forever."
Eric walked down the hallway that led to his room.
Queen Maria left the Gala to seek out Queen Hilary as she heard some cries. She looked onward and saw Eric. "Señior Enrique...?"
He looked back and wiped his eyes smiling. "Are my skills needed?"
"Ehhh... No Señior. But are you ok," she said with concern in her voice.
He laughed, "I could not be better." He said as he kept walking.
"Ay..." Queen Maria thought to herself. "Walls... can you utter at least one word of truth to me?"
