How it all began

Sing a song

I walked into the school and everyone was buzzing. Sierra rushed to my side and said excitedly,"Guess what? RAD Records are here and they are auditioning for new talents." Sierra was my best friend and I knew why she was telling me this. I am absolutely  in love with singing and  I am extremely good at it. 

We entered music class and saw our teacher, Ms Kolter talking to a tall, black-haired guy, presumably the guy from Rad Records.

"Hey everyone. This is Mr West, the auditioner and is here to seek new talent for Rad Records. Please take a seat. First up we have Emily King."

Emily was kind of good and sang one of Taylor Swift's songs.

"Next up we have Brielle Wilson." I looked and Sierra wide-eyed. She gave me a gentle shove towards the stage, smiling.

I took a deep breath and walked to the stage.

Miss Kolter smiled at me. "What song will you be singing?" she asked me.

"Never forget you by Zara Larsson and MNEK."

"The stage is yours,"she said. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.

I opened my eyes and saw stunned faces looking up at me.

A million thoughts raced through my mind.

What if they didn't like me? What if i just thought I could sing? Maybe I'm out of practice. Maybe they were just surprised. Maybe I chose the wrong music.....

Finally miss Kolter seemed to find her voice, "That was amazing. Thank you. Please take your seat. Next up we have..."

I found my way back to See, all eyes still on me. "You were amazing," she said. "You sure?" I whispered back. She nodded. I focussed my eyes on the next singer . It was a boy and he was pretty good.

"Next up we have Sierra Reed." She made a face at me and took the stage. I laughed knowing she couldn't sing at all.

The bell rang and miss Kolter said, "Thank you to everyone who auditioned. We will get back to you in a day or to."

I bit my lip. Two days was too long...
