Niall's pov.

I woke up with her in my arms again. What a relief. Yesterday she said we would push off the wedding. Another few weeks I guess.

I still can't believe I wrote that note. I sound so pathetic, so helplessly in love.

I walked into the bedroom to see if she took the ring back. No luck.

Since the whole situations I feel like she'll just slip out of my fingertips, so I'm trying something new. I took the ring back to the sofa, where Lillian was asleep, and pushed onto her finger.

"I love you".

___________

Lillian's pov.

"Guys" I said tapping on my glass. Stopping laughter, putting things on a more serious note, "we have big news".

"You want me to tell them?" Niall whispered in my ear, "you don't have to"

"Ya, go ahead"

"Guys, were delaying the wedding. Pushing it off for a while.."

"What?!" Zayn yelled, "why?"

Many reasons.

"Where not 100% ready for this..." I say, heart clenching, "we want it, but can't have it"

"But don't worry, we're still going good" Niall says. As he spoke, I searched the crowd for one face.

Harry's.

I texted him on the spot asking if he'd be joining us.

"I'm not feeling well, sorry" was all he sent back.

I interpreted it to: I'm feeling a bit heartbroken and not in the mood to be with people.

"Feel better" I sent back and focused on the group of people gathered, and concerned, of my love life.

"So what's going to happen next?" someone asked I chose to ignore it though.

"Nothing, were just trying to slow down. Enjoy each other" Niall says licking his lips.

I smacked him playfully and wait.

"So how's the new album coming around?" Liam asked.

"It's been going great. We're almost done!"

I don't find myself starting conversation any time soon.

"What about my mom?" Niall asked, "we haven't told her".

"Oh..right" my mind finds itself a depressed, anxious, sad Maura. She was the happiest when we told her about the pregnancy, what about the miscarriage.

I noticed a tear fall fast down my face.

"Don't worry. She'll find out..."

"How would we tell her? she'll be devastated".

"We can...well why don't we, just...um"

"Theirs no way".

"And your father!" Niall exclaims, loud enough for everyone to hear.

"He doesn't even mind..."

When I think about it, my heart dissolves. My mother died when I was young: too young. My father ran away of depression, leaving me with my grandmother. An only child with a grandmother all her life, until I lost her too.

Just recently my father acknowledged me. I've always asked if I had a sibling. I never got an answer.

"He cares Lillian"

"Not as much as your mother"

Which was odd to say also, she only started liking me slowly after the engagement.

"It's alright" he says clearly wanting to drop this conversation, "I'm going to the bathroom. Be back soon" he says getting up to leave and placing his sweet soft lips on mine.

His chair becomes empty, until someone refills it: Louis.

I haven't spoken to Louis in a while, I would say he was the one person in the band I wasn't close with.

"Hi there lil"

"Hey there lou"

"I've missed you, were you been" his accent, so crisp and fresh.

"Everywhere, what about you? how el?"

"Better than ever" I heard him more like 'betta than eva'

"How come you don't stop bye more often? that Nialler keeping you busy?"

I knee exactly what he was thinking, but why.

"Not like that Louis!"

"Like what?" says Louis, no sarcasm at all

I felt the blushing form across my face, thankfully the awkwardness stopped.

"Well I'm heading back to my seat, wouldn't want Niall to beat me."

I was hurt with his offense less joke. He was obviously referring to how Niall beat up Harry, but I left it pass.

I patiently waited for Niall to return. Until then, I fiddled around with my fingers, complaining about my newly-chipped manicure, with jade.

"Oh my god" I said noticing something new, when slightly old on my finger. The ring.
