I opened my eyes slowly.
I could feel my sides in pain, my head aching, my stomach burning up, and my body numb.
I squinted my eyes as I tried to adjust my eyesight with the surroundings. White walls, 6 monitors, a wooden swivel chair, and a roll of kimbap placed above a wooden table welcomed me.
Where the hell am I right now?
I tried to get up but my feet won't budge. I started to feel pain in my hips.
"You're finally awake?"
I looked at the person that talked. It was a middle-aged woman in her winter clothes, biting on a roll of kimbap. She oddly looks familiar.
"What the hell am I doing in here? Why can't I move!?"
She shook her head and laughed, "Exactly what I expected since you're his daughter." But just like a complete 180, she frowned and said, "Oh? You shouldn't say that. You're too young for that!"
I scrunched my eyebrows and asked her, "Y-You know who my parents are?"
Hundreds of question raced through my mind. I didn't know what to ask her first. Should I ask about my parents? About how they looked like? What their names are?
You shouldn't care about people who abandoned you.
I mean... Why else would I be here if they didn't abandon me?
"My name's Daeyoung. Kang Daeyoung." She sat at the wooden swivel chair placed near the bed I was lying at.
With a scoff, she added, "I don't really know how I'm related to your father but.... He usually introduces me as someone he knows."
I struggled to move my body, and finally was able to do so. I sat up and noticed the bruise on my arms.
She rushed to me and tried to stop me, "Ya! Stop, stop! You need to get better first. You won't be able to seek revenge if you leave this place and die."
I looked at her in confusion and asked, "R-Revenge?"
She grinned, "Keurae(right). Seek revenge by continuing Healer's job."
That was the last thing I heard before I felt dizzy.
15 years later
"How much are they giving us for me to go through all this trouble?"
I sighed as I ran away from those Fearless Scouts bastards.
/Hmm. Let me see. It's 10 000 000 won($10 000), Healer-ya./
"Mwoya(what)? You let me do all this running and jumping through buildings just for a measly 10 000 000 won?"
/It isn't 10 000 000 for the two of us, Healer. It's 10 000 000 each./
I stopped for a while and took a breath. "Ah, jinjja(really). Why did I ever agree on this?"
I looked back and realized that the men chasing for me were getting near. I climbed and got to the rooftop of a building. I jumped to another building, and another until I reached an abandoned structure.
I entered the building and soon reached ajhumma's office.
I heaved a sigh as I threw the box to her. I freely threw my body on the mattress on the floor and said, "That client has been contacting us for so long. Even giving a huge amount of money. Why does the client always ask me to steal an idol's belongings?"
Ajhumma threw an envelope beside me and answered, "Molla(I don't know). We both know we've been following the rules not to know the identity and reason of our clients so that they don't intervene with ours."
