"Mom, do we have to go? I don't have any friends there." I said as I packed up my last cardboard box marked Books 6. My room was completely empty. The floor was bare. The walls were painted from light blue and purple to white. It was just like it was when we moved in. "Honey, you never had any friends," my mom said, bringing me back to reality."and I think this will be good for you, since you only leave the house for school or to return or get a new library book. Look at you, we've lived in California for 6 years, hon, and you're as pale as a ghost!" she says, touching my face like it's a delicate crystal ball."Fine, but let's get moving. The sooner we leave, the less time I have to elaborate on my escape plan." I say to put a smile on her face. She laughs, and it makes me feel all warm inside. I haven't seen her really smile since dad died. I don't think I have either. We heave the last boxes into the moving truck, close it up, get in, and start driving. Well, here goes, just like in the cheesy movies that kids watch. My name is Sara, and i'm moving across the country. And i'm totally scared!
