"Mom!! Please stop doing that!" I shrieked loudly, my mom and I are stuck at a red light on our way to downtown Orange County when she started doing her car dance. She starts laughing at my comment, and I cant help but join in. "Mom please don't ever do that again!"
"No way Ella Mae! You know you love it!!" She's smiling at me, and turns up the radio as my favorite song comes on; I hate you I love you by GNASH is my favorite song and its also my weakness. We both sing along to this until the light turns green.
Mom presses on the gas and drives fast across the intersection area, when suddenly a semi truck comes out of no where and slams into us. Our car flips several times, and another car slams into the back of us and we slid farther down the road. The last thing I hear are the ambulance sirens, then all I see is the dark oblivion of peace...
**************
I open my eyes to an unfamiliar blurry room with white walls, a painting of a Sail boat on clear blue waters and a bright sun in the distance. It smelled sickly sweet, like medicine almost and rubber gloves. I reach my hand up to my face, I touch an unfamiliar air tube and a bandage on my forehead. I realized that I wasn't alone in the room.
"Daddy?" I ask as I look at my dad, he's older and more scruffy than usual. He looks up with tears in his eyes and takes my hand, gently.
"Yes baby girl, I'm here." He holds my hand more firmly, and kisses it with his tears streaming out of his eyes.
"Dad-daddy where's mommy? Where is she? Is she in another room? Dad?" I ask him with tears in my eyes, almost over filling. He looks at me with these sad eyes filled with pity and pain, he starts talking saying how sorry he was and how my mom was a good women but all I can focus on is the hurt I feel inside and my sobs adding to my pain. I become a blurry mess of tears and sobs, when I realize the last words I ever said to my mom were "Mom please don't ever do that again!" I would give anything for them to be I love you mom.
