Carrie couldn't believe it.

Her parents were dead due to some drunk driver, and her boyfriend, Paul, had cheated on her, all in one night.

And on the worst possible night, too. Prom Night.

So here she was, sitting on the bleachers with her head in her hands, the skirt of her long, white dress sprawled around her, her long, brunette hair had started to fall out of it's braid.

She heard footsteps coming toward her, but she chose to ignore them. They came closer and closer, until suddenly halting. She looked up, and tried to forget that her mascara was running over her cheekbones, and her smeared, once-beautiful eye shadow probably made her look like a ratcoon.

"Princess?" He spoke softly, making her feel almost as if she had been caressed.

"What do you want, Harrison?" She snarled.

He opened his mouth as though he were about to say something, but closed it, deciding actions speak louder than words. He stepped closer to her, and than sat down next to her, and pulled her small form flush against his.

"I- it's okay, Carrie" his voice faltered as he spoke, but the few words he had mustered made her feel protected, and she relaxed against his embrace.

She breathed in his musky smell, wondering when he had gotten this sweet side to him, in comparison to his usual cocky attitude, usually fighting with her for the umpteenth time that day, but decided she liked this new part of him.

Her thoughts were soon cutoff, by him mumbling to her, "You know, he never was good enough for you. You deserve someone much better."

She was kind of shocked by this, and pulled away. "And you are?" She asked, slightly mad.

"Well, no, but I-"

"I can't believe you, you had enough nerve to come over here and act all sweet and then think you can just- ughh!" She snapped at him. He was so infuriating and she could feel tears starting to flow, and realized that they were fighting again.

Her internal conversation was again interrupted, by him.

"I know you like me, Carrie, and you know I like you, but what I don't know is why you won't just admit it. I know you never liked Paul, you know it too."

She was filled with rage by his words, but blinked her eyes, to find him gone before she had opened them.

She found no use in holding back her tears now, so she let them flow, the feeling of them streaming down her face comforting.

She was crying, because of her parents, because Paul(although Harrison was right, she never liked him), and because of Harrison, because she was so mad at him, which made her love him even more.
