Sometimes I need a laugh
To make the world seem bright
Sometimes I need a note
To say it'll be alright
Sometimes I need a little hit
To bring me back to earth
Sometimes I need a "He was stupid."
To help my heart not hurt
Sometimes I need a hug
To help me feel okay
Sometimes I need a smile
To brighten up my day
Sometimes I need a hand
To help me up again
But I'll always need you by my side
To simply be my friend.
