It was a nice day in the summer of 68' it could never be this bad in my life I thought...I was wrong later that night my buds came over and said they were going to join the military I thought to my self that I Finally I good reason to Join the USMC but, they were joining the Navy as sailors but I wanted to get into the shit. So Later that month I went to Pairs Island SC and joined the marines that day.

"DROP AND GIVE ME 20 MAGGOT" The Drill Sgt. yelled

He sound a little more pissed the he was most of the time. Maybe someone died. I don't now but something was wrong. But I didn't care I only had 3 more weeks of boot camp and I was ready to get out of this place. It sucked ass like, same with the food too. It seem like the almost all citizens of America didn't like us they would spit at the Soldiers when they came home from back from there tour. Why were they being jackass to the people who protected there freedom. Anyways the hell week was 2 weeks away then after that the last week of boot camp.

**2 and a half weeks later**

Hell week was in full swing we would get little to no sleep and would be worked till midnight got used about 2 days near the end of hell but it was still hell hence the name "HELL week." After hell week it would just be a review on what we learned like how to take apart and clean our guns and how to survive in the Jungle of Vietnam, shit like that, anyhow, after that I was getting ready to be deployed to nam' just before I got on the I saw my buddies. They were station on the USS Freedom which was the ship that was taking me to Vietnam, So I had like week or half a week to talk with them till I got in the shit.

**That Night**

I was still up drinking just one beer (we were no to get really drunk we were to have a total of 2 beers during the trip to nam') and we started talk about History , Because we all loved history except for Eric he was more of a math guy bu he had to deal with it anyhow we were talking about the War of 1812 when this Sgt came up and told us we had to lay down for the night. I said "No problem don't have to tell me twice sir. " I laid down and was ready to get to nam.

***This is my first book I'm working on and I hope you guys enjoy***
