@The terrible ripping sound of metal
Screams filling the air around
Spinning to a stop
Blackness

Her eyes slowly opened to the sound that filled the white and plain room of the hospital

Her body ached and throbbed, her throat stung as she took a breath.
She couldn't move, what had happened? She couldn't remember anything.
Beep-click-hiss
What was that annoying sound? She reluctantly turned her head slightly to the side which shot a sharp pain down her body, she groaned in protest but managed to still try to look trying her best to ignore the pain.
Suddenly she heard the click of a lock and the door opened a doctor walking in.
He had thinning grey hair that was neatly clipped and black rimmed glasses he was dressed in the usual outfit a doctor would be clad in. He stared at her for a moment smiling he strode over.
"Ah, very nice. Miss Crane, you seem to be doing better! I'm Dr. James. "
His voice was very raspy but kind. He stood up straight with purpose and you instantly liked him.
You gazed at him curiously for a moment before muttering.
"Oh...uhm..yes, I suppose?"
She tried to pick her brain for anything that might help her remember
anything before this? Why was she here?
He then frowned, his gray eyed stare faltering. "You don't remember a thing do you? Miss Crane..." He said his voice filled with a note of genuine concern.
She looked back up at him for a few moments not giving an answer for a while
"No...what happened?" She finally found her voice after a few minutes of silence
He suddenly got a look of dread and he cleared his throat.
"You miss Crane, were in a horrible car accident 4 days ago and you've finally woke up...your lucky dear"
She froze for a second at the word 'lucky' how was she 'lucky'.
She took a deep shaky breath and murmured
"why is that...mr..?"
What was his name again? she struggled to remember his name, her thoughts raced to find something.
"Mr. James, miss Crane..." he smiled sadly and continued "Out of everyone in that car, you survived the wreck, deary."
At that point everything froze and suddenly she couldn't hear the doctors intentionally calming words but only her slowing heartbeat
"Miss crane? Miss--get the nurses!"
everything went dark
