We anxiously arrived at our hotel, it was dark outside my Mom and my Aunt went into the hotel and I was with my Step – Dad in our candy apple red truck getting the truck washed. The man who was washing our truck asked if we were ready (and he meant if we were ready for the storm) but my Step – Dad and I had no idea what he was talking about then we realized there was a wicked storm coming and the man said that he would wash the truck as fast as he could. When I looked at the storm it looked like it was going to be a rough storm, on the top it was black and green, and on the bottom of the storm it was white as snow so I expected hail or rain.
As I ran into the hotel I heard rain outside hitting the concrete ground and the "booming" thunder from the sky. When I got into my hotel room with my Mom, she was talking to my Step-Dad on the phone and when I looked out the window the sound of the thunder was like a “stampede of elephants”. The lightning was like a “strobe light” going on and off rapidly. When I was looking out the window I was looking down from our 7th story hotel room for my Step - Dad but I couldn't see him anywhere
I kept looking out the window and as I was looking out the window I saw that the wind was blowing the light poles back and forth and the wind was so strong that it was also rocking cars from side to side so I thought that there might be a tornado coming towards us! I also thought that the poles were going to break or come out of the ground and swirl up and hit our window!
I went into the next room with my Aunt and looked out her window and I saw what appeared to be a tornado a few miles away, it was white with a long tale, and after about two minutes I saw more of them coming down out of the sky, but they just went back up into the sky. I was surprised that the tornado's didn't hit the ground, I thought that they were going to touch ground and destroy everything. After a few minutes the storm had calmed down but it was still raining a lot with some lightning and strong winds. I was in Stormy Nebraska.
