Monsters

There are monsters in our closets
And monsters in our minds.
Monsters under our beds
And monsters in our eyes.

Monsters who live to scare
And monsters who scare to live.
Monsters who feel nothing
And monsters who feel to much.

Monsters that live at day
And monsters who live at night.
Monsters that break us down
And monsters that build us up.

Monsters hidden inside a dreadful shell
And monsters in the sweetest case.
Monsters that murder
And monsters that cure.

Were all monsters
In our own ways.
Monsters trying to hide behind humane masks
But monsters still.
