With that Licia eased out the doorway she'd been standing in. It hadn't even dawned on her to check the basement. Even though the last few times she'd been over there he was usually down there practising his guitar.

Licia made her way to the basement and sure enough there he was. She recognized Andre and Prince off the back although there were a three other guys she was sure she hasn't met. The song they'd been singing, Higher and Higher immediately stopped as soon as she opened the door to the dim basement. The light from the hallway briefly shined through revealing Andre and his friends. All five guys stood still, like they'd just been doing something secretive. They stood on a large brown area rug conveniently placed in the middle of the huge basement.

"Andre?" Licia said after walking down the steps.

"Lici is that you?" calling her by the nickname he'd given her, he squinted at her.

"Yup." she laughed a little. "I'm surprised you can see me in here." She said walking towards him, he took the bass off and sat it on the stand behind him.

"I couldn't, I just heard your lil squeaky voice." he joked, taking her into a playful embrace." Her once tall, lanky, awkward cousin had matured into such a handsome young man. He was around her skin tone, and wore his hair in an newly grown afro. Dre was visibly taller than everybody else in the room especially Prince who appeared to only be slightly taller than the microphone in front of him.

"That's Terry, Jimmy, and Morris and you've already met Prince." He said as he pointed at everyone.

"Guys this is my baby cousin, Licia..." Andre said, resting his arm around her shoulders. She smiled at his words, still calling her baby, like there wasn't only a year's difference between them. "...the rich one." he continued.

"It's rude to point Dre." Morris joked, and winked at Licia from his seat at the drums.

The guys, who weren't really paying much attention sure did start, when he mentioned the word rich. All except one, Prince, he was busy plucking at something on his guitar.

"I an not rich guys." Andre held her hand up and pointed at her pink Rolex Datejust her mom had gotten her for her sixteenth.

"What do ya call that?" He asked smirking.

"Whatever" she laughed, jerking her arm away.

"I ain't mad at ya cuz."

"Did I hear Rolex?" A bigger guy asked sounding very interested.

"Yeah...I told y'all I got a rich cousin"

He instantly tore his attention away from the keyboard he was at and began gawking at her. "I'm Jimmy, can I see it real quick?" He asked, approaching Licia and Andre.

"Sure you can see it." She said offering her wrist. "It's a special addition...has my name engraved on the back to." She said as Jimmy held her wrist up to eye level, practically drooling. The watch was silver with a small pink face. Bright diamonds filled the bezel.

The other band members all filed over to do the same, all except Prince.

"Wow, I knew this was a lil bit above my pay grade but...damn." Morris exclaimed nudging Andre jokingly.

"A lil bit? Don't you mean a lot." Terry clowned, making everyone laugh.

"Not forever though." He said, laughing himself.

"I know that's right." Licia agreed, giving him a high five.

"How much was it?" Jimmy asked, he was still holding her wrist like it was some sort of precious commodity.

"Thousands." Terry answered.

"Honestly, I don't know my mom got it for me." She replied, rather amused by their sudden infatuation.

"Well it's nice, but not as cute as you." Morris flirted, flashing a perfect smile. At that Prince let out a sarcastic laugh, seemingly directed at Morris.

"Watch it man she's my cousin." Andre said, in a light hearted tone, but she could tell he was being serious.

"I know and she's as cute as ever." Morris continued gazing in her eyes, making Licia a bit uncomfortable.

"Thanks." She said shyly.

"Aye P, get over here man, look at this watch." Andre waved his friend over.

"I'd rather not." He said with a attitude, sounding more than a little irritated.

What was that guy's problem?
