I was at the beach shore, crying. A gang of boys just beat me up earlier while calling me an orphan, because of that, I was covered with bruises. Suddenly I saw something white sparkling that had washed up on land. I got up and ran towards it, I grabbed it and felt another hand on mine. I look up and saw a girl with black hair and brown eyes.
"O-Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't mean t- are you alright?" She asked, removing her hand from mine and on to my cheek. Was I blushing?!
"I-I-I-I'm f-f-fine" I stuttered. I looked at my hand, and saw a white seashell.

The girl looked at the shell is my hand.
"Wow, that's very pretty" she says, holding my hand to get a closer look.
Once see looks back at my face, she notices my bruises.
"Oh my Irene! Are you OK?!" She asked, sounding concern.
"I-I-I'm fine ... " I replied, my eyes began to tear up.
She sat next to me "Please ... Tell me ... What's wrong ..." She asked, I sighed.
"I got beat up by a gang of boys" I answered.
"What?! Why?!"
"Because I'm an orphan ..."
"What happen to your mummy and daddy?" I sighed.
"2 years ago, my mom passed away from a car crash, so it was just me and my dad ... but he ... always punches and kicks me from the littlest mistakes ... One day, I accidentally broke my dad's mug ... the one my mom gave him for their anniversary ... when he came back, he had two of his friends with him ... he saw what happened and got really mad ... he yelled at me and said he disowned me ... then ... he grabbed a knife and ... and ..." I felt hot tears streaming down my face.
I looked at the girl and saw she was crying with sympathy in her eyes.
" ... I ... I ... am so sorry ... I'll ... leave you alone ... sorry for ... disturbing you ..." She trailed off, wiping her tears away with the palm of her hand. She got up and was about to walk away.
"WAIT!" I grabbed her wrist. She turned to me.
"P-P-Please ... stay ... I really need someone to talk to and I ... enjoy your company ..." I said, as my cheeks were splattered a shade of pink.
We were both staring at each other, blushing at the same time.
"What ... what did ... your dad do?" She asked, I was glad she did, knowing that someone actually cared to know.
"He ... got the knife and ... pushed me against the wall ... he began kicking and punching me ... before he could actually stab me, one of his friends tried to stop him while the other one called the police ... my dad was an inch away from stabbing me until the police burst through our door ... My dad was arrested and I was sent to the hospital. After I was recovered, they sent me to the orphanage ... and that's why they were beating me up earlier while calling me an orphan ..." I finished telling her my story.
When I turned to the girl, her eyes were flooded with tear. She hugged me tightly and it felt nice so, I hugged back.
"What's your name?" She asked.
"M-M-My name ... Laurance" I respond.
"Nice to meet you laurance! I'm Aphmau" she extend her hand at me, I took it and shake it. We both smiled at each other. I haven't smiled in a long time.
(Aphmau POV)
Me and Laurance were smiling at each other when I suddenly heard, a cawing sound coming from behind me. I turn around and saw seagulls near the water.
"Laurance, look!" I pointed at the seagulls and got up.
I ran towards them, making them all fly away. I heard Laurance chuckled behind me. I smiled and ran towards him, grabbing both of his arms, pulling him up.
"C'mon!" I shouted.
We both ran through the beach when my dad called me.
"Aphmau! Time to go home!" He called.
"OK!" I yelled back. Then I turned to Laurance "I'm sorry, I have to go" I said, as I let go of his hand, he tighten his grip on mine, letting me know, he doesn't want to let go.
"Hey, its OK! We can meet up tomorrow!" I said, smiling.
He nods his head and lets go of my hand. I ran back to my dad and waved goodbye to Laurance. I'm so excited to meet him tomorrow. Something tells me were gonna be best friends.
(Laurance POV)
She waved at me and I waved back ... I'm really excited to meet her tomorrow.
