Ryan knew he had Skylar now, no matter what she said about it and he really did feel like she could be ‘the one’ that would make him happy and make him the kind of man he probably would have turned into if a bunch of stupid high school girls hadn’t messed around with him. Skylar would never do that. She was just scared of piling all her worries and troubles onto him and although he would admit, it was a lot to deal with, he truly cared for her in a way he couldn’t explain or understand, a way he hadn’t though he was capable of feeling anymore. But now that he knew he could, and he did, then nothing would stop him from showing her just what they could have together. The amazing love that he knew they could share if she only opened up to the idea and let him in. There was one thing that might help that along and show how serious he was, he would need money which wasn’t easy without a job, but he’d do anything to get her what she wanted and what he wanted to give her, even if he had to sell his soul to get it. He was going to show her just what she meant to him and then she would have to admit that she felt it for him too. She just had to.

Ryan had to wait until Skylar was called to the door by Spike, who had obviously found a more realistic and less brutal way of talking to her than breaking down her door, to have a look at the notepad she had tried to hide from him. They had been having a really nice evening together, eating dinner and talking with a few delicious kisses in between, one of which they had been in the middle of enjoying when Niles interrupted again. It seemed he couldn’t keep away but Ryan knew what that was like. No matter how much he had convinced himself that he wouldn’t rush her into anything too serious when she was already frightened off enough that she kept running away from him, literally and emotionally, he just couldn’t keep his hands off her. When she kissed him she was so sensual and seductive about it all, teasing him and touching him in ways that most girls were afraid to after knowing him for just two days. But that was what he loved about her, with Skylar, it didn’t feel as if they had only known each other for two days…it was more like an eternity of feeling like she had always been there with him, in his heart, just waiting to break out and tell him she loved him. She obviously wasn’t going to do that anytime soon but she had agreed to let him try and persuade her to see things his way and when he had teased her about being a big soppy romantic and loving the book he had inadvertently given her, only for her to retaliate with one of those sexy little quips of her, he couldn’t help but kiss her.

After just a few moments they had been so caught up in each other that their clothes ran the risk of flying off in all directions. It was like an addiction, kissing her, like the very second he even though about it his breath quickened and his heart began thudding away in his chest as if it were about to burst out at any second. Actually doing it was another thing entirely, he could barely breathe and after those few minutes their brains had shut off and their hearts had taken over. He had flipped her onto the mattress and let his hands do all the talking but he didn’t feel guilty, even then, as he sat staring at the open page of her notepad. Skylar had been just as enthusiastic, holding him close, arching that beautiful body of hers into his until there was literally no room for air between them. She was a right little vixen, pushing his t-shirt up his chest until she had her hands underneath, right on his skin, running them over his back when Ryan had been forced to withdrawn from their kiss in order to regain some air. Just looking at her like that, breathing hard and fast, her eyes floating all over him, he knew that she was his, it was just a matter of letting her figure it out for herself. He had been a tad surprised when, after a few quiet knocks on the door, she barely even looked to register them and instead, lifted herself to kiss him so gently, so tenderly that he hadn’t been able to do anything other than keep it going.

The urgency wore off with that one kiss but they would have stayed there forever just kissing like that and knowing that they had all the time in the world together, if it hadn’t have been for Niles choosing to follow up his knock with his damned annoying voice. He had suggested that she answer it, purely just so he could take a minute to breathe and because it would get rid of Niles. He had no doubt that he could regain her attention again once he was gone if he had wanted to, but when he lay his head back onto the pillow behind him and settled himself, he felt the little reminded of her notepad digging into his back. And that was when he got confused. In a good way, of course. How could it not be when his name was on the top line, written casually only to be surrounded by little love hearts and doodles that said Skylar was every bit in love with him as he was with her. He couldn’t help but look up at her as she stood in the doorway, unwilling to let Niles in, holding the door closed behind her even though he was in plain view, and adore the knowledge that he had a secure place in her heart.
