Calista looked anxiously at her reflection as she ran past a mirror to get to her destination, the throne room. Today was her fifteenth birthday, well, fifteen in human years, in fae years she is about 1069 years old. She reached the throne room just as her father was about to send a goblin to remind her that the guests would soon be arriving.
"Calista, what took you so long to get ready?" Her father asked.
"I couldn't find my other shoe." Calista mumbled as her father smiled.
Just as she was in her place the guests starting trickling in. She greeted the rulers and their children from many neighboring realms as they came in. As the guests slowly stopped pouring in, the King and Queen of Asgard came in with their two sons.
"Welcome King Odin and Queen Frigga." Calista said with a warm smile.
They smiled as they passed. Frigga bent over and whispered something in her son's ears. The two boys stopped and began to protest quietly, but Frigga quickly silenced them. The smaller of the two boys walked over to Calista.
"Happy Birthday, princess Calista." He said.
"Thank you, but please, you are no older than me, just call me Calista." Calista said.
"I'm Loki, and my brother over by my parents is Thor." Loki said, smiling.
The pair realized that they enjoyed eachother's company, so they talked. Soon enough, dinner was being served and the royals from Asgard were sitting closest to the King and Calista, Loki and Castila talked about anything and everything from plans when they became rulers to what Thor was most likely doing right now.
"I think they are perfect for each other, don't you agree?" Frigga cooed at Odin and Jareth multiple times during dinner, not knowing that even though they were deep into conversation, they were listening to their parents because one day that would be them.
"You want to meet up every week?" Loki asked as dinner ended and guests were leaving after Calista's father, the king of the underground and goblins, Jareth, had thanked the guests for coming.
"Yes, parents aren't finding out, right? We don't need them trying to start planning the wedding." Calista joked.
Loki smirked and nodded before hugging Calista and kissing her hand. He left her to catch up with his family and she smiled and walked to her room. When she walked in, she was surrounded by flowers of every kind, blue roses, daffodils, violets, cherry blossoms, lilacs, and more. Sitting on her nightstand, was a small card. She opened it and read it twice.
"To the most beautiful maiden in all of the realms:
Your voice is gentle and your laugh is melodious.
Your smile is more beautiful than a blue moon.
I would move the stars for you, turn the world upside down just to be in your presence.
~ Loki Laufeyson"
Calista read it out loud and blushed. She thought of his raven hair, his green eyes, and his amazing sense of humor. She walked out to her balcony and vowed upon the stars and the moon, that she would spend the rest of her life with the God of mischief, Loki Laufeyson.
