Setting-Alien Planet, After War

Lilith grabbed the wooden basket that was resting by her door and jogged over to the garden. From what she could see, everyone was hastily stocking up on rations for when the storm finally arrived. She looked over to find her mother picking berries from the bushes. Her luminescent hair was covered in sweat from taking care of the crops, and was speckled with dirt. Her long blue dress was torn at bottom due to its length, but gradually returned to its normal satiny color toward the top.

Lizabeth noticed that her daughter was staring at her, and looked down at the fruits, allowing her lips to curve into a slight smile. " The sooner you bring that over, the sooner i'll let you eat," she said, trying not to worry her daughter.

Lilith looked to see that the clouds were getting closer,  before making her way over to her mother. The girl watched patiently as the plump fruits were carefully placed into the basket, and her mouth couldn't help but water. But her mother was keen on getting out of here quickly. She reached down and gripped the basket, allowing them to exit the garden. As they ran, the rain followed close behind, but Lilith closed her eyes while her mother prayed.

The rain seemed to be getting closer, and closer until it was practically right on their heels. Lilith couldn't stand the helpless screaming of others, making her run as fast as she could. Her mother fell behind, but kept running. She was blinded by tears as the rain caught up to her, but she was able to see that her daughter had already made it to the shelter safely. She was about to arrive there too, and no one else would die. Her daughter would be able to see her mother again. She was filled so much hope, that she almost didn't notice that a drop had landed on her bare skin.

She kept running, hoping that she must of imagined it. But her skin was turning a sickly green, while it became harder to breath. Her legs turned numb, and unusable, while more drops landed on her skin. She collapsed to the ground, paralyzed from the waist down. Nothing but pain fell through her body when she attempted to crawl toward the shelter. The rain had covered her entire body now, nearly paralyzing her fully. But instead of wasting her last breaths, she pulled a locket from one of her pockets. She held it with every bit of strength she had left. Inside was something that she hadn't looked at for years. But now, as she realized that her daughter would later come out to find her mother dead, she knew that Lilith had to see what was inside. And only then, could this world be saved.
