"Aspyn ,hun you need to wake up. You're going to be late." I slowly opened my eyes to see my mom opening the curtains and the light shining through the window.
"Ahh mom it burns, the sun is burning my eyes." I yelled.
"Very funny Asp, now get out of bed. You don't want to be late for your first day at KC."
I slowly got out of bed and headed to the bathroom. I washed my face thinking about how today was going to change everything in my life. A few months ago, I graduated Montgomery High School, leaving the most horrible four years of life all behind me. All summer I worked non stop at a little café downtown just so that I could change everything about me for the better. I used the money I earned from the café and bought contacts and all the new clothes that were "in." If anyone I knew before saw me now they wouldn't recognize me, and that's how I liked it. I finished getting dressed and ran down stairs to the kitchen where my mom was getting my lunch ready.
"How do you feel about this new year honey?'' she asked.
"Scared, I guess."
She looked at me for a few seconds and started walking towards me, "I want you to walk onto that campus and show them who's boss. Ok?"
"Sure", I said wearily.
"Aspyn you are going to KC Girls Sorority for a reason, they picked you out of all of those people. You should be excited, I know you wouldn't be happy at any other sorority." my mom asked
To be honest I wouldn't have been pleased if I didn't make it into KC Girls. During RUSH week I had chosen a few other sororities. But KC Girls stood out from all of them.

I parked my silver BMW and walked on to campus. There were people walking everywhere, friends were hugging each other, boys jumping on each other like they haven't seen each other in years. It was a mad house.
"Excuse me," I said to a short red head, " Do you know where I can find KC Girls Sorority?"
"Ya, it is right over there," she said pointing to a big white colonial house.
"I'm Jackie Davidson," she said.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Aspyn, Aspyn Hamilton."
"You're going to KC Girls, so am I," she said excitedly.
She talked really fast but I thought it was cute. She was wearing a maxi skirt with a striped design on it and she paired it with a cute crop top.
"That's so cool!, do you want to be friends."
"Sure", she said.
"Yay" I said happily.
