Once Upon A Time,
I used to live in New York City. I can still remember falling asleep to the sounds of the street and occasionally waking up in a panic to the sounds of pained screams. My father was never there to hug me and tell me I'll be okay. He'd come home drunk and slap me across the face for being a disgrace to the family. I was the mistake in the family. I was never supposed to be born. My big brother on the other hand, he was my hero. He was so smart and kind. Sadly, as he got older, my mother turned him against me and they both shunned me. None of them loved me. As I got older, they acted as if I didn't exist. I had no friends because my brother would turn them against me too. And even though everyone hated me, I could never hate them in return. I loved my mother and father. I loved my big brother and everyone else who used to be in my life. But my loneliness consumed me. I would cry for hours and then use a blade to part my skin. I'd watch the blood drip and hoped that my misery would end one day. I had no one to confide in nor have anyone to console me. Except for my fairytales. I read and wrote fairytales all day and dreamed of them at night. They were my escape from the world that hated me so much.
