A white ball went whizzing by. A boy in the crowd jummped up and down, a huge smile stretched from ear to ear on his face.
She felt a warm arm wrap around her shoulders. She looked up into his gentle green eyes.
"Maybe next time, bud," he comforted her.
She looked down at the new brown mit in her hand and shruged, "yeah, next time."

She squinted as her mother parted the blinds.
"Wake up, Indigo, I made your favorite!" Indigo's mother chimed in her singsong voice.
Indigo, standing in front of her closet, sliped on her robe. "What's the occasion?" she headed towards the door to escape her mother's morning craziness.
When she reached the door she turned to look at her mother, confused by her silence, "Mom?"
"Oh! Sorry. I just got lost in thought," her mother snapped out of her weird daze.
With that Indigo slipped out of her room and into the bathroom to make herself presentable for breakfast.
She couldn't shake the feeling of that dream. Who was that man? Why did she feel every moment of the dream like it was realy happening? Maybe she should tell her parents about it.

Indigos's mother checked to make sure the coast was clear before looking at her watch. She touched a button and her surroundings changed. She was now in a high tech lab under the Pentagon.
"Good morning Agent Anderson," a man in a lab coat said. "How is she doing?"
"Good so far. I have to get to this meeting and then go back in, " she politly excused herself.
She hurried through the lab to a glass door on the far right. She took a deep breath then opened the door.
"Good morning." A stone faced man stood on one end of a long marble table, "Please take a seat."
"I still think this is wrong!" Anderson barked at the large man. I've grown attached to this girl and it's just wrong. We've been depriving her of a life!"
"What are you talking about?" The man inquired. "She is living a perfectly stable life."
"It's not the same. This isn't her real life." She retorted.
"Its too late now to stop the project."
Agent Anderson shrunk down into her leather seat in defeat letting out a short sigh.
